1. Pay Down the Mortgage
We were able to make 6 additional payments towards the principal for September.
2. Buy Nothing New for 1 Year.
I didn’t really have the urge to buy anything last week. Although I did take a hot bath and had to use a little shampoo for bubbles. I miss scented bubble bath. A luxury item in my mind. But apparently I don’t miss it enough to break down and buy a bottle of the good stuff. Willpower. It’s an amazing tool.
3. Track Spending and Figure Out New Ways to Cut Spending Even More.
Pr Tip of the week: If you don’t want to spend any money… don’t leave the house, have internet access or step into a store. 😉
4. Try 52 New Recipes.
This past week I tried a new recipe for Chicken, Spinach and Parsnip soup and it was delicious.
5. Keep My Grocery Budget Under $100 a Month.
So far this year I’ve spent a whopping $1245.71 on groceries. So that means I’m totally over budget for the year. Life. It happens. And when it does, you shouldn’t beat yourself up about it.
6. Go on 52 Dates with the Handsome Husband
This was a junky week. The HH worked 6 days straight and I hung out at the hospital with my brother which left no room for date day this week.
7. Turn My Wool Stash into $5,000.
I’m back on Etsy and Ebay and this past week I sold $659.47 worth of my hooked rugs!!! How crazy is that? So far this year I have sold $5223.77 worth of arts & crafts. Not too shabby since I hook rugs in my spare time {while watching movies, in the car, waiting rooms, etc.}. 🙂 🙂 🙂
So far in October I’ve sold $164.79
In September I’ve sold $1259.27
In August I sold $329
In April I sold $29.99
In March I sold $799.53
In February I sold $1077.27
In January I sold $1563.92
8. Get Rid of 1,000 Things.
So far this year I’ve gotten rid of 1093+ things.
9. Read 52 Books in 52 Weeks.
I was too busy this past week to pick up a book {or listen to an audiobook for that matter} but I am still in line for Kiss Me Like a Stranger and The Whole30 from the library
10. Track Hours Spent Working on My Vegetable Garden and do a Cost Analysis at the End of the Year.
I don’t remember harvesting anything from the garden this past week {my brain is mush at this point} but I the puggle princess and I have been checking the squash plants and pole beans daily for progress. We also planted some kale and cabbage starts in the containers on the back porch as well as got our garlic in the ground.
So far this year I have harvested 109 pounds 6 ounces of fresh veggies from our backyards. I spent $19.40 at the greenhouse, $10.40 at Wilco and about $16 on mulch. You can read all about my gardening adventures at Dig for Your Dinner.
Time spent working on Vegetable Garden in 2016: 21 hours 10 minutes.
11. 52 House Projects in 52 Weeks.
This week I freshened up the window box and trim while the sun was out. Cloudy skies and rain are in the forecast for this week {which I am actually happy about} so I wanted to make sure to get any outdoor projects that needed my attention done.
12. Make all Birthday and Christmas Gifts This Year or Acquire Them for Free.
Nothing new to report on gifts.
How about YOU? Did you set any goals for 2016? How are they coming along?

I found a new way to save on a screening mammogram this week. MDsave.com is a website where I can prepay for an xray or lab at my local hospital. This month a mammogram is $99. There is also a $25 coupon for a first time customer which will bring the total cost to $74. Since I have a high annual deductible, I have to pay for labs and xrays in full each year no matter what the price. The website and the hospital will not bill my insurance which is how they save money. They also have my payment before I get there which saves them a lot in mailing statements. I will submit my receipt to Blue Cross so it can be applied to my deductible just in case.
I suspect if there is one company doing this then there are probably others. I would love to learn about them so I can compare prices.

Rebekah that is really interesting. I’ll have to check that out. When I needed an MRI the imaging place called ahead to confirm my appointment and offered me a discount on my part of the cost if I paid ahead of time. I think I saved $30. I also wanted to comment that while I am not on a no spend diet I am always looking to cut costs, stretch things to last longer, or use what I have. This week I used olive oil to fix a squeaky door hinge as well as using olive oil when I ran out of the oil I use on my curly hair

***6*** payments? YOU ROCK! I’m not sure how you do it, but I’m amazed!
I was thinking since the holiday season is coming up, you should go back through your posts each week and make a list of those things you really wanted to buy, but didn’t and make a x-mas list. Bubble bath and those types of things make perfect gifts for you to receive and then you wouldn’t have to pine over them. In fact, I’ll send you a bottle. Where can I find the mailing address? I’ll start poking around the site to find it.
