I grew up in a small SC town that had a lot of peach orchards. In fact, for about 40 years, everybody in high school had a summer job at the “peach shed” sorting and packaging peaches for transport. This was nowhere near Gaffney, SC, home of the Peachoid, but 100 miles south. My mom had a mail route and one of her customers had an orchard and gave her a bushel every 4th of July. This was in Kline, SC – one time we were on vacation in Gatlinbrug, TN and that same grower had his peaches in a store there. Small world.
