Earn $1,493.04 {Last Year’s Grocery Expenses} Selling Totally Random Things Online
If only I could sell T-Rex, I’d have this goal in the bag. But seriously, this is a goal that I have everything I need to achieve the goal {all the supplies {mostly} boxed and ready to go} but just haven’t made the time {it would take half a day at least} to get everything listed.

Go On a Staycation/Craftcation With The Girl
Québec City is still at the top of our list. Some place in Old Town with breakfast in bed. We both now think we should go during the holiday season when everything is decked out for Christmas. I wonder if it snows a lot up there in December?
Send 52 Cards To 52 Different People. {19 of 52 sent so far}
Last week our neighbor gifted us some beautiful white daffodils he was digging up out of his yard and so I left a jar of blueberry jam and a card on his front porch as a thank you.

Grow 1,000 Pounds of Vegetables In The Religious Family Sized Garden
We’ve still got about another 10 days until the garden is totally planted with vegetables and holy cow man, when that’s done I think I might have to have myself a pajama day!
Still left to plant:
Corn, sunflowers, summer squash, winter squash and more beans and beets.
Then I’ll work on getting the flowers I started in trays planted.
On one hand it seems like the planting will never end. On the other hand I know it will and I’m excited for that sweet spot of a few weeks of no real work before all the harvesting and canning begins in earnest.
When it comes to gardening in Maine… It’s all or nothing around here.
Empty The Canning Cupboard / Fill The Canning Cupboard
It actually feels like the canning cupboard is starting to thin out. We are down to our last jar of green tomato piccalilli, the jams are dwindling and the salsa is too.
Note To Self: Eat the rest of the split pea soup this week.

A solo adventure to Fair Isle. I don’t think I could have picked a more unique, isolated and cozy spot to spend a few weeks. I’m already dreaming of going back.
Take An Adult Education Class Done
The Girl and I took a 3 day British Baking Classics course at King Arthur Flour in Norwich, Vermont and had a good time. My favorite thing we made was the sticky toffee pudding.

The yard sale was a great success! The Duck Lady and I were both able to get rid of a lot of items we didn’t want and as an added bonus, I only had 1 box of stuff to drop off at the thrift store. Yee-Haw!
How about YOU? How are you coming along with your goals for this year?

Karen says
Check out Quebec’s Bonhomme Carnival.
Linda Sand says
Do you or the girl speak French? It’s hard to do Quebec without it. We were so overwhelmed just trying to make sense of road signs that we just drove right back out again. We would have done well to take our daughter with us. We actually did better in France where people were more willing to speak English. Oh, well.
Mavis Butterfield says
Oui oui! The Girl speaks French.
Karen says
I studied French there years ago. The accent/dialect is totally different than Parisian French. Enjoy, it is beautiful!
Cecile Hoare says
First of all Quebec is the second major skiing destination in Canada outside of the Rocky Mountains. Secondly, you’re looking at between 25-30″ of snow during the holiday season. Thirdly, Carnaval de Quebec is in February so you are better to go then. Fourthly you can most certainly manage in Quebec City without speaking French. It is a tourist area and most stores will gladly speak or try to speak French to get your money! Your daughter speaks French, you both likely have cell phones with auto translate on them so you’re golden! Now my only suggestion is, if you go in the winter beware, there are often ice storms! Good if you are ‘stuck’ in Quebec but not good if you HAVE to get home! I haven’t been to the west coast but I have been to Quebec City a few times, my father’s family is from Quebec’s Eastern Townships (south of the St Lawrence Seaway), my son in law’s family is Quebecois and absolutely love Quebec and it’s culture!
