Last night we enjoyed beef and broccoli stir fry for dinner. Now days we tend to make stir fry at least once a week. Had it not been for the Sun Luck company stir fry seasoning packets I discovered years ago, I don’t think I would have ever attempted stir fry at home. Weird. It’s so easy. I used a packet this time around {I was able to pick up quite a few with the last round of double coupons} but you can make stir fry at home easy peasy. Just google stir fry and you’ll come across a ton of 5 ingredient recipes.
The ingredients we use depend on the season. In the spring and early summer, we use a lot of sugar snap peas. Mid to late summer, we use zucchini and green beans. In the winter, we tend to use broccoli, onions and carrots as broccoli always seems to be on sale during the colder months.

Hi We love stirfries too. I use whatever is on hand as well. My kids love soba and udon noodles so I incorporate veggies into the noodles. I love these types of meals. They are quick to throw together, I can use whatever odd assortment of veggies I have on hand and flavore with some soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, or fish sauce and we are good to go! The packet sauce looks handy I’ll have to look for those in my area.

Stir fry scares me…not sure why, but I never know what to add and how much of what and then it gets burned or nothing seems to be done at the right time…timing seems to be my issue. I have to get a packet and see if I can figure it out 🙂 Do you use a wok? I don’t have one, but maybe that’s my problem…?

I add about 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the pan, then cook the meat. When the meat is finished I set it aside and on a plate and then cook the veggies. When the veggies are almost done I toss the meat back in, add sauce and cook for 1 more minute. Pour over a bed of rice and I’m done.
There are good directions {with pictures} on the back on the stir fry packet too.

Wonderful! That’s how you do it! I will put this on the menu this week…thanks for the additional information! 🙂

We’ve been doing a lot more stir fry lately too, since it is quick and easy – and with a ‘side’ of pot-stickers, mmmmm. But I just make my own sauce, sort of. Hawaiian soy sauce, brown sugar, spices (onion, garlic etc) and water, and good to go.

Pot stickers are yummy!
