If you are in the Seattle/Tacoma area and own chickens or have been thinking about raising chickens in your backyard, you’ll want to cough up $5 to take a tour of local chicken abodes this weekend. I went on the Urban Coop Tour last year and came home with a bunch of ideas for the garden so I’ll be buying a ticket again this year. Since the tour changes every year you are bound to get inspired and see new things. Who knows, maybe we will run into each other.

I would love to come check out the different coop options people are using. Unfortunately, I’m busy this next weekend 🙁
Yesterday I tried to send some pictures of the new coop I built for our 5 week old chickens. I can’t seem to get the photos to load when I try to send them through the “@” tab. Any suggestions?
You could have your own online coop tour using your own blog followers 🙂

I had a chid tree fort in my back yard. It did not have a swing or a slide and we knew we wanted a chicken coop. So I fenced in the bottom with chicken wire and the house part on top, I put a whole in the floor and made a ladder for them to climb up to get up to the top where the hens lay eggs and roost. So, nothing was wasted.
