This recipe for Crock Pot French Onion soup came from good ole’ Betty Crocker. Not only can she bake a cake, but she knows her way around a crock pot as well. Who knew?
We had a huge onion harvest this year {the biggest one yet} and so I know I’ll be making this French onion soup recipe several more times this fall. The Handsome Husband really, really liked this soup, um, and the cheesy toast. He ate like 4 slices. What a little piggy!
Here you go. It’s the easy soup ever.

What a great idea, I never thought to make this soup in a crock pot. 🙂

IF you want to get really into this…get a few pounds of grass fed marrow bones and cook them in the crock pot with enough water to cover them for at least 24 hours. Then add in very finely diced flavoring veggies (such as carrot, celery) and garlic. Cook another few hours. Use that for your soup base. I add salt, pepper and turmeric and more garlic. You can freeze the rest for another batch later.
