Besides scrambled eggs and pancakes, waffles are about the easiest breakfast food on the planet to prepare from scratch. Luckily, everyone in our house loves them, which is just what I am looking for on a lazy Sunday morning.
PrintSunday Brunch Recipes – Blueberry Cinnamon Buttermilk Waffles
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
4 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 /2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
extra blueberries to sprinkle on top
powered sugar and syrup
Instructions
- Mix the wet ingredients with the dry.
- Cook on a lightly greased waffle iron.
- Sprinkle fresh berries and blueberries over the top.

Looks divine! Just wondering, do you make your own buttermilk or buy it? When my mom needs it, she makes her own.
Milk (just under one cup)
1 Tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice
Place a Tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice in a liquid measuring cup.
Add enough milk to bring the liquid up to the one-cup line.
Let stand for five minute. Then, use as much as your recipe calls for.
