Well it took me an entire weekend, but I finally managed to clean up the front yard.
Typically the front yard is the Handsome Husband’s responsibility, and he does a great job, but he doesn’t like to clear brush {who does?} so that particular job is mine.
The thing is, I totally slacked off last summer and never got around to clearing all the nasty sticker bushes, so they ended up growing into the rock bed and have looked horrible ever since.
The last few days I’ve been stalking Home Depot on a daily basis waiting for their remaining stock of fall bulbs to be reduced to 75% off {right now they are 50% off}. Call me crazy, but I thought it would look cool to plant a flowing bed of daffodils behind the rock border.
I’m guesstimating I would going to need about 500 bulbs to pull this off . I would love, love, love to plant a giant display of tulips, or something else but the neighborhood deer would eat them, so I have to stick with daffodils.
What do you think? Would a giant bed of daffodils look cool, or should I just leave the area empty?

Go for it! Something is usually better than nothing… there are a variety of colors of daffodils out there besides just yellow so you can get more of a tullip effect. I personally feel that any color or type of flower done in enough abundance will look beautiful. I have seen whole hillsides covered in daffodils, it takes your breath away.

They’ll look great, but start off slow, with patience. In just a few years, the original bulbs will have mutiplied to the point that you can divide them!!!

Myself I think that some really pretty grasses would be perfect, low maintence, water savers and they have such a variety of sizes and colors
