One word. Costco. Yep, I totally broke my weekly budget. But hey, lets look on the bright side, at least we got some free samples. Basically from now until Christmas, I totally need to hide my Costco card and not step foot in the giant warehouse if I’m going to make it until the end of the year. That, and find a good sale on butter because I’m almost out.
Oh well, some weeks are better than others right? I’ll try to do better next time around.
But for now, here is what I purchased last week:
Costco Shopping Trip $ 18.41
Monkey Boy wanted bananas, and The Girl wanted croissants. We needed the milk and splurged on English Cucumbers. It’s certainly a good thing we don’t shop at Costco to often, because if we did, my grocery bill would most likely quadruple overnight. I have no excuse. I was just weak. Ha!
Local Produce Store – FREE
Free melon and apples… Heck ya I’ll take it.
Albertsons Shopping Trip – $12.01
We now have 2 hams in the freezer and a Thanksgiving turkey. Yee- Haw. Now, if I could get find an awesome deal on butter, I’ll be happy. Find out how I scored this deal HERE.
Albertsons Double Coupon Shopping Trip – $0.30
The only thing I really wanted from Albertsons this time around was the free cranberries. But since I was there anyways, I went ahead and picked up from free stuffing and baby food for the local food bank as well. My trip was short and sweet. Just the way I like it. You can read the breakdown of this shopping trip HERE.
So how did you do last week? Have you secured you need for your Thanksgiving dinner yet?

What a great deal on emergency underpants! This is a must for everyones Zombie Apocalypse kit!!! Costco and I have a love hate relationship. I try to stay away because I know how bad it is for me, but I always seem to give in at least once a month!

I have a coupon for a free bag of Ocean Spray cranberries but my store
isn’t carrying them this year. They are carrying a brand that I am boycotting due
to their business practices. It’s a local thing…most of the countries cranberries come from around here.
I did win a free Butterball turkey. The coupon arrived in the mail Saturday.
Do you call him Monkey Boy because he likes bananas??

There is a Challenge butter coupon through Challenge Butter’s Facebook page. Vote for your favorite recipe and then get a $1/1 coupon. It will print twice! High value coupon, should get close to free butter with a great deal! 🙂

Thanks Nichole. 🙂

It was that 0.30 at Albertsons that pushed you over budget! 😛
So, seven weeks and only $103 left? Or, does the seed money donation count towards groceries? Either way, you’re amazing. For the second year in a row, you’ve made me realize how much money I waste. Maybe you’ll even inspire me to actually stick with my budget in 2013.
I <3 Mavis!

Mavis, what is the “seed money” donations I see in your posts?
Mavis says
We put some garden produce out at the end of our driveway this summer {not much} and received $50+ in “seed money” donations.

Target has Challenge butter for 2.69. Just in case of a butter emergency you could use the $1q making it 1.69.

By a little after 8AM Sunday most of my Albie’s list had already been shelf cleared, I think I still have some unused doublers. I did get some pies for $1.50 each, free cranberries and some other random stuff. I’m getting pretty good at having backup plans during doubler mornings.
I did find an awesome deal at Chuck’s Produce in Vancouver, WA : .09 lb WA Russet potatoes. So for $9 I have 100 lbs of potatoes staying cool in my garage WOOHOO.
