How to Make Guacamole
The Handsome Husband and Monkey Boy are pretty excited about the Super Bowl game this weekend. I don’t even know who’s playing but I have a feeling I’ll be whipping up plenty of appetizers for them to munch on during the game. 🙂 What is it about football games that makes everyone so hungry?
Or maybe it’s just a reason for us to all pig out. I don’t know. But guacamole, oh boy, we all love it.
If you don’t have a favorite guacamole recipe, this one is my favorite. Here’s how to make guacamole:
Ingredients
3 avocados – peeled, pitted, and mashed
1 lime, juiced
1/4 cup diced onion
1 clove minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
Mash the avocados together with lime juice. Then add the rest of the ingredients together and mix well. Chill for an hour or two and serve with chips.
Do you have anything special you put in YOUR guacamole to make it extra special? If you do, I’d love to know about it. {I have a friend who puts chopped tomatoes and jalapenos in hers.}

I make my own too, but for a quick weeknight taco dinner, we simply mash (or use the foodprocessor) the avocados and add juice of half a lemon (or more depending on taste) plus a little bit of garlic seasalt (McCormick Grinders) and a pinch of cayenne pepper (or hot sauce, to taste).
A small teaspoon of fatfree sour cream is a nice add in so it streches a bit further too!

Thanks I usually just buy the seasoning packets, I sort of need the recipe.
A few months back I bought a box of Avacados from the farmers market (Only $5!!). They only had a few days on them but I can eat alot of the things in that amount of time. I ended up sharing with many of my relatives that live near by (I also looked up how to store the stuff… still have some).
Anyways it seemed a shame to throw out the pits… I sort of went to youtube and saw this video…

Believe it or not I add cottage cheese if I make it for a crowd. I have never received a compliant and I have a family of food snobs! If you want to disguise it buzz it up in a food processor with 1/2 of your avocados. The rest can stay in chunks along with the rest of your ingredients. Trust me… no one will ever know!!

I just smash avacados and add a bit of salsa for fast and tasty guacamole.
