FAST FOOD SEED COLLECTION
Organic !!!! Excellent !!! That’s what I wanted to do this year anyway. I haven’t consciously done organic or non-gmo before but it’s time for us to all do it !! This collection works for me since I’m trying to eat more salads and protein to get me back on weight control and all around well being. These help both physically and mentally .
Favorite things to grow in my garden would be tomatoes since we all like to take a shaker of sea salt and graze our way thru the garden.
Adrienne Wright says
I love fresh tomatoes and would love to grow poppies.
Shelley says
I would love the fast food collection because beet seeds are included. I can’t get enough of ’em lately! I always grow beets in my garden for myself and for my elderly neighbor next door – unfortunately she passed away a couple of months ago. Its gonna be sad pulling up those first beautiful beets knowing she’s not there to share them with me!

Melissa W. says
The container garden set would be wonderful. This is my first year with a garden and since we live in the county w/no deer fence until next year … everything I plant will have to be in containers! So far I have a few tomato and pepper starts going in my greenhouse. Very excited!
Tara says

I would LOVE the container seed collection! I have always helped my parents with their garden and this year I am going to grow my own. I live in the city with a small yard with an even smaller section that gets the required sunlight so containers are the way to go for me! I have been stringing, snapping and canning green beans with my grandma since I was little so green beans have been my favorite to grow, I think for the most part because of all the memories I have related to them! Thanks!
Denise Taylor-Mills says
I would be stoked to win any of these collections, but first choice would be the poppies. Then fast food seed and then container veggie seed. They would all be put to good use here. Nothing would be left un-planted.

Would love the Container Veggie Collection. The Boy always wants to plant carrots but we’ve just don’t have the good loose soil needed so I was thinking about trying them in a container. Sara Smith says
I would love to win the super Organic Salad seed collection. Salad is the only thing green my husband will eat. I can’t tempt him with anything I grow. He was diagnosed with Leukemia 2 years ago and I could’t garden or have a pot plant in the house because of the bacteria in the soil. During treatment no fresh anything. Last month he got the all clear and is leukemia free! “Yippee” 🙂 and many thanks to all at the Colorado university Hospital here in Denver. I can finally grow and play in the dirt again. I’d like to plant an organic salad bed just for him. The seeds would be just perfect 🙂
Heidi says

Debbie Brubaker says
I would totally love to win the container seed collection! We have will have some construction and landscaping work done this Summer and possibly the Fall too that would make it hard to count on having in ground garden plots on our urban lot. At least with a container garden, we could move around the pots depending on what’s happening in the yard. Win,win situation!

Danielle O says
I *LOVE* the Container Garden Collection. Last year was my first attempt at gardening & it was a total FLOP! Maybe if I had some Botanical Interest seeds it would of been a little more successful (even tho most of the mistakes I made were rookie mistakes of poor spacing or overwatering… & my aunt giving me a slug plant disguised as strawberries!)
We just planted snap peas, carrots & radishes in our community garden plot this weekend. But I’d love some more seeds to get started in containers at home again this year.
Sara O. says
All three collections look fantastic, but I’d like to win the fast food seed collection. Trying to expand the garden this year and making raised beds for the first time. My favorite thing to grow has been cucumbers.

Maggie says
What an AWESOME Giveaway! I would like the container garden seeds, although each one sounds great in its own right. I only have two raised beds because we live on a small city half lot, but will be trying square foot gardening this year to hopefully give us as much produce as possible. With 7 mouths to feed, all of them veggie-loving, I want to maximize our space. My favorite thing to grow is probably tomatoes because of the yum factor and the high yield! My five year old is growing carrots and the 4 year old wants to grow lettuce. The other 4 aren’t picky, they just want the veggies!
Heather says
I would love the container garden seeds since I am just getting started on gardening.

Most of these in the package are new to me and I’d love to try them! Crunch! Summer = Yummy Salads!

Thanks for the give-away,
~Anne

We would soooo love to have the Veg Container collection (though, we would be happy with any of them, really!). We just moved into the in-laws house that Mah Hubz grew up in. Doing a lot of work to do both a front and back yard garden to grow most of our food (tough economic times demand it now!). Our current favorite thing to grow is the miner’s lettuce we have such an abundance of here in the PacNW. The ones we have in our yard now are almost a foot tall in places! Delicious! Would go great with those container veggies!
Diana Smith says
Fast Food collection sounds good to me. Still waiting on spring here in So. Mo…think it got lost this year…or maybe an April Fool’s joke?

Jodie says
FAST FOOD!! I love fresh, nutritious and easy fast garden food! My favorite “fast food” to grow is Red Sails lettuce. We are able to keep picking the outer leaves for a harvest that lasts most of the summer. I had a few volunteers come back this year, hopefully with this beautiful Pacific NW weather we are having we’ll be able to harvest our first salad of the season soon!
Amy says
My favorite things to grow are cucumbers and tomatoes. eating them fresh from the garden reminds me of my childhood and my parents. I’d love to win the container vegetable garden! It would be to recreate those great memories with my son!
LuAnn Braley says
Talk about hard to choose!
Probably the Container Garden seeds would be the closest to what we’ve gone with in the past. We’ve usually done a couple of rows in the garden at my husband’s Mamaw’s house. But she passed a couple of weeks ago at the age of 91, and her children either have no interest or have significant health issues of their own. The upshot is, if there is planting to be done this year, me and my little brood will have to do it.
Delores says
Definitely the fast food seed collection! thanks! I am ready to start getting food from our garden instead of the grocery store.
Donna R says

The organic salad seeds would be my pick, yum! I love growing herbs and have a special fondness for my little trees: Meyer lemon, key lime and avocado. This year we’ll be growing a salsa garden: tomato, onion, garlic, cilantro and peppers. Thanks for the giveaway. What fun!

Barb Poposky says
I would LUV to win any of these collections to get back into gardening this year 🙂
If I have to choose just one, tho, I guess I’d go with the salads collection. I can plant those in oversize cans & hang them on the fences near my kitchen door, and save my ground-based growing space for larger veggie plants then.
I have loved growing tomatoes & cukes in the past, and am hoping that my pepper varieties do well this year 🙂
Sarah says
Veggie container gardening for sure… i am trying one this year for the first time. I use to garden a lot but live in an apartment w/out much space to do any gardening…. my landlord cut down a bunch of shrubs last fall & has given me permission to turn it into whatever i want so i am super excited about it…the last 2 years my step-mom has let me have a plot in her garden & everything failed miserably… i like growing just about anything… LOVE to harvest – love that feeling of accomplishment … even more i love to look at a group of just filled canning jars & listen to them pop….gardening is good for the soul, mind, spirit… and of course the belly 🙂
MaMaLaLa says
We would love the Super Organic Salad Greens- so very cool. I bought other seeds but not these ones. 🙂

My favorite thing tp grow is tomatoes and pole beans (KENTUCKY WONDER).
Sally says
I would love to win the salad seeds. I love growing bush beans because they do well every year and I love canning green beans.
jaime says
Mmmm….salads. And veggies. (Hard to choose just one pack, but the salad would be most likely to survive my black thumbs of death, I think.)
Sara P says
I would love the “Fast Food” pack, as we will be ready to grow, FAST!!!
Our family of four humans (plus three chickens, two lovebirds, and multiple fish!) are moving to a new ‘hood in two weeks and leaving behind our petite raised planter bed. On the bright side, I am looking forward to some SERIOUS micro-farming action! More beds to be installed. Could totally use some fast seeds!
Thanks for considering – sara ph

Kristin says
I would love the Fast Food Collection. 🙂
Gwenn says
Container if you please. HH & I rent a duplex so we are pretty limited on what we can plant in the ground. I did get a “plot” at the local community garden (yeah!) and I plan on growing zucchini (green & yellow), melon, carrots & beets (multi-colored ones!), spaghetti squash and butternut squash. Question though….If I have a deep ( 24+ inches) and wide container (like you would mix concrete in) could I grow the carrots & beets in there…maybe some radishes too?
Kim says
How nice of you. Love gardening and would love ANY of the collections. I would put any of them to good use. If I absolutely must choose…I cannot! Ok how about the fast food.
Donna Rutledge-Goulden says

Kari Panneck says
Fast Food collection would be my pick! I love gardening. Right now we are munching on lettuce, spinach, and kale from the garden. Can’t wait to plant tomatoes — yummy tomatoes:)
Michelle says
How cool would it be to have a Fast Food garden bed… My 2 sons and all our friends would not believe that we have a Fast Food garden bed and then we could show them and even let them taste to encourage them to grow some fast food for themselves.
I love my 2 blueberry plants that I have in 1 container I have had them for about 3 years and I get tons of berry’s for the size of the 2 bushes. ♥
Sarah Llewellyn says
I love growing tomatoes in my garden and would love to win the container vegetable seed collection! Fingers crossed!!!
Michele says
I grow my veggies in raised beds and containers and this year I am experimenting with varieties of bush tomatoes. I would really like to win the container collection, because it has both container varieties and bush tomato seeds. Winning anything would be fabulous though! This year I am really looking forward to growing spacemaster cucumbers for the second year and trying lemon squash for the first time. 🙂
Linda says
Fast food collection please. Favorite one to grow is tomatoes. Love your garden!!
Eileen says
Hi Mavis!
I would love to win the container garden seeds because I live in an apartment and am forced to grow everything in buckets, pallets, and a small (very shady) garden bed that is only about 6 inches deep! My favorite thing to grow is probably peas and green beans as they are so fun to hunt for! Plus, they make a great snack right out there in the garden. This year I am also trying to grow sungold tomatoes because they taste like little tomato candies! i discovered these little beauties last fall when I was volunteering with kids at a local community garden. Thanks so much for the giveaway!
-Eileen
cathy says
the Fast Food!!! Cause I wanted to do a vegie garden this year and we still have the white stuff everywhere!!!So anything I plant has to grow fast here in the great north(WI,MN)
Love your blog btw…i wish I could have chickens……….

I would love to have the container garden bundle of seeds. I am a new gardener and have limited space (living in the woods and loving it!). I have been contemplating starting a container garden this spring when the snow finally melts and am super excited Mavis is showing us how to do square foot gardening. I look forward to your blog every day, and even though I am a fan of big dogs (especially labs) I have to admit that Lucy is pretty cute.
Marilyn says
I would love love love the container garden seeds! With the weather that we have had this year..snow snow and more snow and cold cold cold weathert(the lowest since 1984), I could bring them inside and love them there! Yes, Mavis, it would be more then that I would have more to tell my friends since all I do is say well Mavis said in her blog today, and Mavis feeds her chickens and Mavis has a gorgeous yard and Mavis feeds her family of four on a hunderd $ a month…Ok I will stop before you think I am a stalker! LOl
Mary Van Keuren says
I’d go for the fast food collection–that looks awesome. And my favorite thing to grow in the garden is anything that is underground, like carrots and potatoes–With above-ground stuff, you can monitor it throughout the growing season, but when you pull up the stuff that’s been growing underground, it is totally like CHRISTMAS!
Rachel Z. says
I would LOVE the Container Vegetable Collection. We just found out we have to move out of our rental house right smack dab in the middle of gardening season. So, this means I really have to get creative with containers so they can move with me! Thanks for the giveaway. Botanical Interests is my FAV! I’ve bought all of my seeds from them this year- I first heard about them on your blog!
Brooke says
The container packet! This year is my first ever garden. I am so excited to get dirty! We’ve just planted two raised beds — peas, arugula, carrots, beets, lettuce, broccoli, radishes, spinach — all Botanical Interest Seeds (gotta love a local – for me – company that’s playing fair!). I’d love to put my front yard to work too with a bountiful container garden!
Shari King says
I have my eye on the Container Vegetable Seed Collection! Spinach is (one) of my favorite garden veggies! Just wish I could find heat/drought tolerant varieties to grow! I really need to check out Botanical Interests since there practically in my back yard! Would you put in a good word for me, Mavis??
Stacie M. says

Liz M. says
I would love to win the salad seed collection. My favorite vegetable to grow in my garden is tomatoes! You just can’t beat the flavor of a garden-grown tomato!
Brooke Ross says

Lauren Weiss says

The container seed collection seems quite well rounded and awesome! My favorite thing that I grew last year was my cantaloupes. Who knew that one plant could make 8 amazing globes of sweet sweet heaven? Ahhhmazing.
Julia says
I think I am going to have to go with the container garden seed collection. I want to try to grow more vegetables in small spaces.
Heather m says
I want the container seeds. My husband and i married last november and This year is our first garden. He has the tractor, tiller and the “big” garden and I have the small raised bed garden. I am trying to prove that I can grow just as much as him in a tenth of the space with a lot less effort. It has been fun so far. We have had to replant potatoes due to too much rain and corn due to the birds eating his seed from the ground in his garden. I have had to put fencing over my beds to keep the cat from using it as a litter box and I put my tomato sprouts out too soon and we had a couple frosts in a row and they died. But, us joking with each other about the set backs has taken the edge off of the pain. And it is a learning experience. Just want to say thanks to Mavis for sharing her highs and lows. It somehow made me feel better to read that Mavis put her tomatoes out too early and frost killed them,.
Anne says
I would love to win the container seed collection 🙂
My favourite thing to grow is a tie between strawberries and snow peas- I love the flowers on both, and I love watching my kids sneakily eat them when we’re gardening together 🙂
Maria says

Any one of them would be Fabulous. I guess container veggies. Happy Gardening

I think the more practical for me would be the container seeds and the fast food seed collection. The trees in my back yard have grown so much that there isn’t a lot of sun there anymore..so I will have to plant on the south side. My 9 year old grandson will be spending a lot of time with me this summer and he always likes to help with the flowers. Now I would like to introduce him to veggies. It’s been a few years since I have had a garden and am really looking forward to growing and harvesting my own food again. This is something I want to teach my grandson also!!

What a juicy selection 🙂

Kerry C says
I would love to win the container vegetable seed collection. I have a hard time choosing my favorite thing to grow- tomatoes, basil, romaine… It’s just so nice to go grocery shopping in your yard.
Rachel P says
My favorite thing to grow can only be narrowed down to 3, I tried to pick 1 but it was impossible. Tomatoes (cherry), snap peas and carrots. The reason these 3 all tie for first is because they are the veggies that my kids love to pick and eat straight out of the garden… we are working on insisting that they wash the carrots first but I’ll still delight in watching them eat veggies right out of the garden even if it means consuming a little bit of dirt.
And tough decisions made, I would choose the Container Vegetable Seed Collection.
Devin says
Container vegetable. And just one favorite?? Lettuce and spinach.
Sharon Weare says
I guess I would choose the Vegetable Seed Collection, though the choice is not easy! I love to grow tomatoes because nothing beats a fresh tomato straight from the vine.
Cherri Fagen says
Because I am so excited about my first garden I am so laboriously working on I would be very pleased to win any one of the 3 seed collections. I would be especially HAPPY to win the Super Organic Salad Seed Set. I have had a hard time deciding which salad greens to choose, hence my decision would be made for me! Thanks for the opportunity to apply for this contest. Mavis, you are a gardening machine and a true inspiration!
sheryl says
Fast foods! First choice!
Laura Arnett says
Container vegetable seed collection- hands down. My favorite thing of all times to grow would be square watermelons! My daddy showed us the secret to making a round melon square…. Put the small melon in a cinder block or small wooden crate while its growing and when it’s time to pick just burst the block open and there you go, a square melon. My kids and I are going to grow some this year and I’ll share the secret with them. This is a great way to remember him since this will be our first garden season without him.
Jennifer says
I would love to wind the fast food collection. I am growing a very big garden this year. We are trying a bunch of firsts and many old time favorites, basically every veggie, but corn! Tomatos are a huge priority and we have tons we are planting this year, along wiht beans, peas, cabbage, eggplant, squash, cukes, peppers, berries, potatoes, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, rhubarb, sunflowers, other flowers, and anything else I pick up along the way!
Mike Churchill says
Either of them would be nice the more flowers or veggies the better
Kaia says
I’d like to try the Fast Food collection! I haven’t grown anything on my own, but so far this year I have Romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, and garlic planted in crates, peas just planted in the ground today, and plan to do herbs in the crates after harvesting the cool weather crops.
Dana says
I think the Fast Food Collection. I’ve not gardened much, but tomatoes are my favorite! Herbs are a close second.
Helen in Meridian says
I would like to win the container garden vegetables or the poppies. They would bloom early for Memorial Day vases (we do 24 graves each year. They wouldn’t bloom this year; but maybe they would spread and bloom in the future.
Christa says

OOooooooooo, I hope that I win! I would love the Container Vegetable Seed Collection, if I do. We had a garden that was about 15X25 feet, last year. This year we are talking about planting that, as well as several raised beds in the front yard. With eight kidlets, we need FOOD!!! 🙂
Sherri says
Fast food for me! We have a lot of space but a shorter growing season so it would be perfect. My favorite thing to eat from the garden is tomatoes but I must admit that I seem to grow peppers better than anything!
Karin says
The salad collection woud be great! It’s still very cold here in Holland so not much outdoor sowing could be done yet. The salad seeds would come just in time!
My favourites to grow are herbs, because I use them in the kitchen every night and it’s so much cheaper and tastier growing them yourself than buying them in the store.
susan says
I would like to try the fast food collection of seeds, though I’ve never grown a garden before!
Denise says
I think the container garden seed collection would be great to win!

Thanks to Mavis, I have the confidence to expand my container gardening from last year’s first try, to a few raised garden beds this year!! I love the new series “How to plant ____ “. Start to finish. The tutorials are a HUGE inspiration! I would love to try the Fast Food collection, it would definitely expand my horizons! 🙂
Brenda says
The fast food seed collection and my favorite is hard to choose but I love growing squashes.
Kristi says
I would love to win the container vegetable seed garden pack. My mom and I just started a garden at our local community garden. We are very excited about it. We are looking forward to growing cucumbers this year.

Super Organic Salads Seed Collection
We LOVE our salads! Nothing like walking out your back door to pick dinner!
mandy says
The container gardening seeds would be wonderful as I’m doing more of that these days. My favorite thing to grow is heirloom and regular tomatoes. With the heirlooms you get such a variety of flavors. I love the flavor of regular tomatoes too, you can’t beat them for sandwiches, blue cheese salads, pasta sauce…oh, I could go on forever!
Connie says
Thank you, Mavis. My selection would be the Fast Food Seed Collection.
Connie says
And my favorite thing to grow is lemon cucumbers.
Hannah Parin says
Definitely the container veggie pack, as I don’t currently have a ton of room to work with.
Silke says
I would like the container seeds collection. This year I will try to grow kohlrabis.
Michele says
I’d love to win the organic salads one!
I have no idea what we are going to grow in the garden; I should get on that soon! I recently reserved a plot at the community garden across the street.
Rozella Wilson says
I would love the win the Container Vegetable Seed Collection! I have been unable to garden in quite sometime, but am ready to get going on it again. I love to grow lettuce so that I can go out and pick a salad for dinner time!

I will begin a garden this year and I really love the Container Vegetable Seed Collection.

Peggy Stenglein says
Hi! All look wonderful, but if I have to choose one, it’s the Fast Food Collection! Thank you for a chance to win these great seeds! 🙂
Kristy H. says
Oh, I just discovered your blog. I think I found it just in time. My husband and 14 year old son planted a garden last year and sold the veggies in our town. They just started planting some seeds already and would love these.
Cee says
I would love the container garden collection! By the way, I ordered a bunch of my seeds from Botanical Interests this year – thanks to the exposure I got from your website. I’m looking forward to seeing the outcome!
Janet says
They all look interesting but the container seeds are my choice. I live in an area of rock covered by red clay, so it has taken years to build up soil in raised beds. This year, I am adding vermi-composting–worms are on the way! I hope I can get over the “ick” factor!
Debra says
I would love the organic salad seed collection, I love salads.
Heather says
I would love to win any of them but particularly 1 or 3. Thanks for all your giveaways!
Debi says
first choice would be the container gardening seed set, my second choice would be the fast food seed set.
Lisa Foster says
Fast food seeds would be an amazing addition to our new home & new garden! Good luck to all!
Alexis says
Super Greens please! This is my first year at gardening. I am super excited, and love the hands on teaching experience my kids are getting! I’ve heard as a first- timer you should just try growing a couple of things….well I totally ignored that 🙂
Jonathan Lehman says
Fast Food would be my choice– my kids and I garden to supplement our diet with healthy locally produced food… and my wife has learned all kinds of new zucchini recipes to try to keep up with the harvest…
Jenna says
As much as I’d love to have poppies, what we really need is the <>.
Favorite thing that I grow is actually a non-food. Gardenia. My grandfather had one in his yard. He’d nurse it through the hot South Carolina summers in super sandy soil. Over the years it never did reached more than 4′ (I wasn’t even paying attention to his pruning), but the smell was heavenly, and I would sit on the porch just to enjoy it when we visited.
I planted one two years ago, two zone up from SC, and mine is already 5′. It smells wonderful and lasts through the fall, but it doesn’t compare to the memories of my grandfathers.
Jessica says
I would love to win the Container Vegetable Seed Collection. The only things I’ve been able to successfully grow are grape tomatoes!
Karina says
I would love the container vegetable collection. I have only just begun planting flowers around our house and had cherry tomatoes and basil last year. The container collection would be great because we live in Vermont and don’t have a lot of light in our backyard but I have three great decks. Now that I’m not busy putting on a (DIY) wedding (for 300, complete with homemade applesauce and corn my father put up) I’d like to do more and I think I’ll have a lot more time this summer! Please help me fill it!
Thanks Mavis.
Your newfound loyal reader,
Karina
Deborah says
Would love to win the Container Vegetable or the Salad Seeds. My favorite thing to grow in my garden has to be zucchini. It seems impossible to kill and there are a ton of ways to use it!
Lindsay H. says
I would love to win the Fast Food Seeds Collection. I’m growing potatoes for the first time this year and I’m so excited to see how they turn out! Thanks Mavis!!!
Charity says
I would love to win the Fast Food selection!
I don’t know that I have a favorite plant to grow in the garden, I just love my garden! We had a great green bean crop last year! That is, until the ducks ate every. single. plant. ~sigh~
Myken G says
I would love the container gardening pack or the fast food pack!. My favorite thing to grow is probably tomatoes, although I just bought a pack of Kale seeds from Botanical Interests, and I’m super excited to grow that! I’ve been gardening off and on for about 15 years and I’m not very good, but I’m learning to do better and excited to see what this year brings!
Evelyn Pace says
Don’t see my comment so posting again 🙂 Would sooo enjoy winning the container veggie seeds. My favorites to grow are Zinnia’s, sunflowers and tomaters too. REALLY enjoy your blog !!!!
Megan W says
I would love to win any of them! I think the container veggies would probably be my top pick. I don’t know that I have a favorite – the goal is for the deer to not eat everything this year – my favorite will be having a fence (hopefully soon?)
Janice MacRossin says
would love to win the organic salad collection. I’ve never tried growing “greens” or lettuce so this would be a great way to give it a try. Plus my husband and I are finally back into growing vegetables after a 20 year “lay-off” in which he grew only flowers and I grew the kids. 🙂
Kinzie says
Container vegetables seems the most diverse, and like something the whole family would eat. The greens kit is a good one, I suspect. I should eat more salads. But we have deer… they may like that one more than anything else.
My father in law grows tomatoes at my house, and maybe a few pepper plants. We’ve been focused on fruits – we planted a ton of trees last year, but only got fruit off the blueberry bushes. Hoping for an actual harvest this year.
Kellie says
We would love to win the container collection because my 5 year old son wants to try to grow carrots. So far our favorite thing to grow has been ‘baby’ tomatoes.
Dawn A. says
We planted our first garden last year, late in the season. We were encouraged that a few things grew, so this year we have bigger and better plans. Maybe a few things plus a tiny bit more will grow! Fingers crossed. The Fast Food seed collection looks great. We love beets and have not tried broccoli raab. We still have snow on the ground here in MN, and our planting fingers are itching to get into the dirt. Thank you!
vicki tucker says
I like our family garden to have anything I can ,can or freeze, any of the seeds would be great to try, but I love the fastfood seeds, thanks for all your ideas
Tara says
container vegetable! I love growing tomatoes. There’s nothing like a fresh picked tomato straight from the garden.
Paty says
Hi Mavis, What a nice thing for you (and Botanical Interests) to do! I’d love to win the “Super Organic Salads” collection. They all sound so interesting and would add a great variety to my MN garden! Thank you!

I would love any of them, however, I believe I would get the best use out of the container collection. I am trying square foot gardening for the first time this year and am excited but a bit nervous!! I will also be helping to get my daughter’s first garden in as well. Alot of planning, seeds are started but we live in South Dakota and the ground is still partially frozen and very cold so it is slow going!! HURRY UP SPRING WE ARE READY!! Love your site and thanks so much!!
Becki says
I would love the container gardening package — perfect for our city garden. Good luck with your square foot gardening project. We’ve been doing it for a couple of years in various forms and have great success — from herbs and peas on the parkway to tomatoes, broccoli, peppers and more in the yard.
Michelle Wright says
vegetable container seeds would be awesome! I’ve really gotten into organic food and the more I grow and dehydrate (and can) the better.
Donna U says
I’d love to win the Fast Food Seed Collection and my favorite thing to grow is Baby Little Finger carrots from Botanical Interests! They are so sweet and grow fast. Botanical Interests seeds are the best.
Michelle O. says
Container vegetable seed collection! Thanks so much for the chance to win 🙂
Amanda says
Oh my goodness! I would absolutely love ANY of those! My favorite is probably the Fast Food collection. I have only gardened for a couple years. (My first year was entirely in containers.) At that time, my favorite thing to grow was spinach because I loved to munch on a couple leaves each time I walked past it on my porch. Now, I love to grow anything! I just love growing food, period, and seeing things come to life! This year, I intend to try Broccoli raab for the first time. That should be fun!
G. Buddersnaps says
Container Vegetable Seed Collection would be great
Catherine B says
Container veggies please! I have kale and herbs growing right now in containers since I don’t have much yard. In the tiny bit of ground I do have, I just started zucchini. Very new to gardening, but my aunt keeps telling me that these guys are easy to grow. 🙂
robin says
I would love the salad collection. I need to lose weight and it would be a good incentive to go out to the garden for “pot luck” and you know it would taste better than anything from the store! Thanks for having this contest and giving us a chance to win!!!

I would like to win the Fast Food Seed Collection because I’m trying to grown TONS of BEANS this year. Easy to grow in the florida heat. But my favorite thing to grow is swiss chard because it’s beautiful and delicious.
Amy White says
I would love to win the Fast Food seed collection. I am fairly new to gardening, as this will be my 3rd year having a garden. We just recently relocated to a new climate with a shorter growing season so I feel like I’m starting over. We have a lot more land to grow vegetables though so that is exciting. I have some sugar snap peas growing right now and am super excited to see how they do since this is my first year growing them.
Cooky says
I use to live on a farm and would have a big garden. I miss that so I tried a raised bed last year. I would be happy with any of the collections but my pick is the container vegetable seed collection. Thank you for the chance to win . I have just found your blog , I just want to let you know how much I enjoy it and the information you share.

I would love to get the fast food packets. My area in northeastern washington has a shorter growing season and I only dream of a greenhouse someday. I currently just grow tomatoes and raspberries. Our family also takes advantage of mother natures garden and pick gallons of huckleberries basiclly right out our back door. So yummy. Thanks again your blog makes me smile…

Shirley Hazlett says
Hello All!
I would like to win the “Super Organic Salads Seed Collection” because salad greens are a favorite to grow! Last summer, my deck was filled with containers of salad fixings, and it was wonderful to avoid purchasing the store-bought plastic boxes of greens. This summer my goal is to go organic, and grown enough for both my daughter and me to eat healthier, all summer long! Happy Spring~ 😉
Suzanne says
The Container Seed Collection would be awesome. This is my first year gardening after a 10 year hiatus and boy, am I excited. My husband and I built my garden bed two weeks ago and we already have tons of radish poking through. We planted peas, lettuce, spinach and two kinds of radish.

You are so cool Mavis! Thanks for another chance at winning an awesome giveaway! I’d love to win any of the seeds but if I had to choose I’d pick the container collection. Right now I’m growing container tomatoes (I live in sunny Florida) and so far so good!!! It would be awesome to try other things! Thanks again for the opportunity!!!
Kathleen Griffin says
I love salad greens, but since my spring is about to come to an abrupt halt and they would bolt before I could get a decent harvest so…….. I think the fast food collection would be the next greatest temptation. I have the worst habit of eating the radishes before they make it to the salad….. But then there is that beyond heat issue……. So for me, the vegetable collection is the best selection, plus an afternoon with a fresh from the garden tomato sandwich sound so incredibly delicious…… Oh how I love my garden……… Okay…. It really doesn’t matter which set of seeds I choose because I love them all so they would all be a great addition to this springs garden or my fall garden…….. Did I say that I love to garden?
heather says
I would love the container package. I am so looking forward to growing beets and pickling them!
I realized I forgot to pick up a couple of variety of seeds for the garden.. like peppers and cukes.

You inspired me to try a pallet garden last year and I loved it! I am Doing one again this year and would love to win the salad seed pack. You and Lucy rock! Thanks
Tim says
Fast food collection. Leek is my favorite vegetable to grow!!
Amber B says
I’d have to opt for the container garden seed package. I have never grown veggies in containers – always in the ground. I think it might be worth a try as I am running out of yard space. As far as my favorite things to grow in the garden – I have a “red” theme. I seem to be able to grow anything red pretty well: tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries and apples. I’m not very good at the greens – lettuce, peppers, zuchinni. I mean who can’t grow zuchinni???? I did master onions last year. I tried potatoes on 2011, but didn’t have much luck. Am planning to try spuds in towers this year! Thanks, Mavis, for all you do. And, happy spring!
Diana Kio says
I would love to win any of these collections. This past fall Hurricane Sandy really made us change how we live. The flood waters were up to my chest as we guided a canoe with my disabled father in it over to my home. We lost many things including cars, mowers, home furnishings, floors, trees, etc. In fact we are still cleaning up! But now I have this intense desire to reclaim out yards and a very real need to save money and grow much of what we eat. I did not grow anything last year and in fact it has been many years since I grew anything. Herbs were a favorite of mine years ago. Thank you for your blog; it is definitely an inspiration!

Container Vegetable Seed Garden! This will be my first year gardening since living at home as a child. My husband and I finally live in a space with a patio (south-facing – that was intentional) and have an 6 x 8 ft community garden plot. I I just cut a melon into quarters and let him go at it. Happy Wednesday!

They all sound wonderful! Having to choose I will pick the Super Organic set because I love, LOVE, LOVE salads with lots of different lettuces! And the colors are always so gorgeous! I have to tell you though, the artwork on the packages is breathtaking and good enough to eat!! I just bought a lot of seeds and I couldn’t resist Botanical Interests because of the packaging – they sang out to me!!! I love growing peas – it reminds me of when I was a kid and we would just go eat ’em off the vine (and I still do that in my 50’s)
Thanks for this great opportunity! Love the photo of the three of you, too!!! You are a nut Mavis!! (My honey said the other day, “You want to be just like Mavis, don’t you?” Of course I exclaimed, “YES!””)
Mary Beth says
I’d love to try the container gardening collection too! Right now my best luck has been with a few herbs and cherry tomatoes.
Heather says
I would love the container gardening collection. I am trying to grow a BIG garden this year, (1st time) so any seeds won would be appreciated!
Carolyn says
Oh what an awesome giveaway! I would love to win the Fast Food seed collection (fingers crossed). I’m pretty new to gardening, but this year I’m going to try to grow carrots. I got a pack of the rainbow carrots from botanical interests (carnival, I think they’re called?). So excited…
Stephanie says
I’d love the container collection!! If I don’t win, I’ll be going online to order up Canadia anyway (actually their cute packaging and variety of choice, I’ll be ordering regardless!) I love making pots of edibles so this is right up my alley! My birthday is April 8, so this would be a magnificent surprise from my fav blog!!! 🙂
PS If I BUY the gnome at my parents in Mexico but have to ship from Phoenix to ensure it arrives, can we count the purchased from place as the gnomes addy?? 🙂
Mavis says
Yes! 🙂

I would love Container Vegetable Seed Collection. We haven’t built raised beds yet, so we are focusing on containers for now. Any collection would be great. I am really trying to “grow” my garden this year.

I would love the salad collection. And my favorite thing from the garden is lettuce, I love salads but my least favorite think is limp lettuce from the store.
Jennifer says
I’d love the container vegetable seed collection! My favorite thing to grow is pumpkins for Jack-o-lanterns. Their leaves are so dramatically large and however the pumpkins turn out, it’s never a bad thing!
Tracie says
Fast food to donate to my local community garden! Thanks Mavis
Lisa Jo suhr says
I would love the Container Vegetable Seed Collection. I haven’t gardened much but want to grow a salad garden this year to keep us stocked up with greens and vegetables. My favorite thing to grow is tomatoes so far but I’m ready to expand.
Karen J. says
Ooooh, I’d love to win the Container Vegetable Seed Collection (although I’d probably be equally pleased to win one of the others too if truth be told :)).
For my garden this year, I already have snap peas planted (upstate NY– it’s about all I can put in yet) and plan to add potatoes, lettuce, squash, beans, dill, basil, and tomatoes when it’s finally warm enough to get them in. I admit to looking longingly at all the things you’ve already got started in your garden.
Hannah says
The Organic Salad Greens collection looks scrumptious!
We are currently in process putting in a garden in at our new house and we are attempting Square Foot Gardening after many years of half-hearted row gardening at our old house. I’m excited to see how our plants do this year. My favorite things to grow are cucumbers. They are almost fool-proof, but so satisfying and delicious.
Vanessa says
The fastfood set would be awesome!
Renee says
The Container Garden sounds great for me. I try to grow things in containers or raised beds since the soil where I live is terrible. I can also put the containers closer to my house for easier care. I love to grow Sweet 100’s tomatoes in containers. This year I have a strawberry patch going in a raised bed…hope I will get something. Also trying red and blue potatoes in buckets from the bakery department of the grocery store.
Susan says
I would love the salads collection. I just ordered my first batch of botanical interests seeds (beets and sprouts) and I am so excited to try them!
Mary W. says
Ooooh, that’s a hard decision. I guess if you MADE me decide it would be the Fast Food Collection, but it’s a close call.
In my garden, there are two things I grow that NEVER let me down, and that is peas and kale. Obvs I live in the Northwest, lol!
Heather C. says
I’d love the Fast Food Veggie Pack or the Container pack, either one.
Rebecca Cafouros says
Although any one of these would be perfect, the Fast Food Collection would be a lovely prize! Thanks for all your wisdom and passing on the deals! Yours is the only blog that I read daily without fail. 😉
carol says
The collections all look spectacular, but I’m hoping to win the container seed collection. I’m currently expanding my garden to the west side of the house to grow more food, but it is definitely a transitional spot and consists of lasagne mulch right now. Would love to have some containers this summer to grow a few veggies while we wait. Thanks for doing this!
kris p. says
I would love to try the container seeds, although they all look wonderful. My favorite thing to grow are tomatoes. A fresh grown tomato can’t be beat!
Marie says
I’d love them all 🙂 But I think I’d settle for the container seeds. Just found your website today and I love it!
Mike Bernardoni says
I would be interested in the “Container Vegetable Seed Collection”..I don’t have a lot of space because my 12 chickens eat everything up. I can put containers where those chickens can get them!! I have been gardening for 50 of my 57 years!! THANKS!!!
Mike Bernardoni

Hey, I’d love any of them but if I had to make a choice I’d take the super organic salad seeds or the container gardening seeds (are they organic?) Anyhow, I’m loving your newsletters, site and facebook page. I’m learning quite a lot from you Mavis and you’ve got me really psyched for this growing season. We are tackling the making of a compost bin from pallets tomorrow. This way I can put it closer to my garden areas than where it is right now. Thanks for imparting all of this great information. I HOPE I WIN 😉
Miss. Meow says
I’m new to your blog and I find it super helpful. I am also new to gardening, I started growing cilantro last month just for kicks and found out I really REALLY love gardening and would love to try veggies next. So far I have just herbs; oregano, basil, cilantro, and chives. I would love to have the vegetable seed kit
liz says
I forgot to tell you what we plan on growing. It is my intention to make some raised beds and grow alot more greens this summer. I want to do some companion planting and the raised beds will give me more room to grow things. I have some new large containers to plant in as well. I’m going to put one right outside my kitchen door so I can grab herbs to cook with more easily then heading to the garden. Thanks
Amanda King says
I would love to win the Container Vegetable Seed Collection! We just started a garden on our balcony of our apartment! I’ve got tomatoes, peppers and strawberries just starting!
Rev. T.D. McCauley says
I think the container garden seeds would be best. Since I found this site while looking for pallet gardening tips, those would be the best way to go. My favorite thing to grow are tomatoes. I once grew a 2.5+ lb. pink oxheart tomato (one of many very large tomatoes on that plant) on a 9′ tall plant. It was an awesome growing season. And my garden is only 3.5′ x 3.5′ square.
Lisa R says
I would love any of them! Your blog is the best Mavis! Keep up the great work!
Jasie says
The container garden set or any set looks great. I’m hoping to get my veggies to grow and not die on me this year!

Organic seed collection
Sabrina Barton says
They are all awesome. Since I have to pick, I pick Container Garden, but I’d be thrilled with any of the seeds. My favorite things to grow are French breakfast radishes and any kind of carrot, poppies and holly hocks. I can’t pick just one 🙂 Love your site.
Linda says
I would really enjoy planting the ‘Fast Food’ seed collection. I just put in a 65 foot by 3 foot raised bed garden and am planning on keeping it growing year round. My husband initiated a change in his eating after living on a lot of the unhealthy ‘fast food’ for many years before we married . We have incorporated more vegetables into our diet on a daily basis. I am thrilled to have my husband choose varieties of seeds to plant and trees we are planning on planting. I grow in containers and have planted vegetables among my landscape in the front of our house too. I just love growing things!
Alice Whalley says
Container garden would be wonderful. I have been container gardening for 3 years and have learned so much and grown. I had never gardened previously and didn’t realize the joy it brings.
Kerry says
So hard to choose! I think I’d have to go with the veggie container collection 🙂
Melissa D says
I would love to win the Fast Food Seed Collection. We are fairly new to gardening. We did have success with growing hot peppers last year, but we really want to branch out to other veggies. 🙂
Marie Tom says
I would love to win the Container Garden Collection. All the collections look pretty awesome!
Mark Ferguson says
Super Organic Salads Seed Collection sounds super yummy and would be my choice to win!!!
Tracy J says
I would love the fast food collection! Spinach is by far our favorite thing to grow, although it never survives the ride from our garden to our house! (my kids eat it all!)
Emily says
I would love to try the container seed collection. My favorite things to grow in my garden are wild kales and heirloom tomatoes!
Monica W says
We do a little container garden each year, so the container vegi seeds would be fantastic!
Our favorite to plant each year is cherry tomatoes.
Benjamin Harris says
How about the container vegetable collection? I’m about ready to plant a variety of greens this week (northern New Mexico, USDA Zone 5 – in a good year). We’re doing squashes, pumpkins, tomatoes, peppers (including a first attempt at pepperoncini (sp.?), the Italian pepper), chamomile, lots and lots of basil (love it! – we’re almost out of pesto from last year), eggplant – all in raised beds. As for perennials, we’re focusing on plants that handle the harsh climate and that the gophers don’t bother, and reducing the number of genera we focus on: Artemisia (especially Powis Castle), yarrows, Russian sage, prairie sage, chamisa (rubber rabbitbrush), Gaillardia, and some others. In shade, Vinca major and Lamium (dead nettle) do well if watered. For shrubs, we have New Mexico privet, butterfly bush, three leaf sumac, mountain mahogany…there’s no point in trying anything that isn’t native. Love your blog! It’s great to know there are some parts of the country where stuff seems to WANT to grow!

My wife shared your facebook page with me and I love your site, mostly your hints regarding gardening. We recently moved to the Gig Harbor and I haven’t had the time to create a garden space. We’re working on it but won’t likely have it completed before the planting season has past. I would like to win the Container Vegetable Seed Collection so my family can enjoy fresh vegetables this summer. I have seeds that I kept from some spectacular 2011 Amish tomatoes that thankfully have sprouted indoors this year and would love to compliment them with some other veggies. Thank you.
Trina says
Ohhh I would love the container veggies! This is my second year around– so although I have learned a lot am still very much a novice. So far my favorite thing to grow is lettuce- it has been kind to me and I love picking fresh leaves just minutes before I make a salad 🙂
Jenny Wyman Rush says
Container Vegetable Seed Collection looks Beautiful! We just moved up to the Sierra Mountains CA. I know it will be a challenge to garden up here at snowline but we are excited to start our first big garden this year!! I love your page on FB. Warmest Reg, Jenny Wyman Rush Thank you again!!
Pete O'Neil says
Fast Food please. I am starting a garden this year. I plan on growing carrots, tomatoes, Jalapenos to start with and some herbs.
Carol says
I’d like to win the container vegetable seed collection!!
I’m new to gardening, just rented our first home and I am hoping to grow lots of healthy vegetables for our family of 4 to provide them fresh nutrients at home and save on groceries, :)HOPE I WIN!
Janet Armour says
CONTAINER GARDEN COLLECTION. . . . with the size of yards down here in the Phoenix area, that’s all I have room for. (I do miss my home in the Inland Northwest!) But, my heart is bursting to start a garden. AND we just signed the contract on our own home, freeing me to create my very own container garden!
I am so very excited, I almost cannot stand it. I have bought two books on container vegetable gardening in order to feed my family healthy foods on a budget. And, I’m learning to bake bread, in my solar oven no less. Who wouldn’t be passionate about something like that 🙂
Helen B says
What a great give a way!! If I shoud win, the “Fast Food ” collection would suit my needs the best! :0)
Jen says
Tomato Bush Better Bush (24 Seeds)

This is my second year container gardening. I was so excited to see all my carrots started sprouting this week. 🙂 I would love the fast food collection. I have been thinking about planting broccoli raab as its so expensive in stores. Thanks for being so awesome!
Lisa says
I would like the fast foods set still very cold on the farm in Maine but can see garlic peaking out
Diane says
Last year my new discovery was purple sprouting broccoli, so I”ll ask to be entered for the Fast Food collection. I’d love to try the broccoli raab. It’s too expensive at the grocery, which is the biggest hint of “what try next in the garden”!
Alyssa says
I would love the chance to grow out any of the collections! I just want it to be a non-Monsanto seed! Though I think that I liked the veggie one the best … the salad one is super great too!
gloria says
I would love the salad seed collection. My FIL plants a huge garden, so the basics are covered. We try to grow items that are unusual or expensive to purchase at the farmers market.
NaConda N. Frank says
I would love the Container Vegetable Collection! I haven’t had a garden in about 3 years due to where we were living, but I plan to start a small one this Fall with herbs & vegetables I cook with a lot. My mom & grandmother have beautiful Fall gardens each year that yields so much! Although I plan on starting a small garden this Fall, I have my fingers crossed because I fear I don’t have the “green thumb” that my mother & grandmother have 🙂
Donna Smith says
Id love the fast food selection. When my family is eating it, I’ll remind them that we are eating “fast food tonight”.
Adam L. says
Oh, I htink the Fast food collection would be the ticket for me. A favorite? No such thing, but I love that I can re-grow green onions from the “butt” end with the roots. We have green onions year-round!
Angela R says
I would love the container vegetable see collection.
Jalynn Patterson says

Kathy Petersen says
I’d appreciate anything….I am doing a container garden this year. First time I have dug in the dirt in years. I recycled a ton of containers. Which as soon as my nice new dirt arrives Tuesday , I’ll be sending pics to Mavis for the inspiration.
Fingers crossed that I have not lost my touch. Up north I could grow anything. But I have been transplanted to the deep south. (Georgia) Since my yard is SAND , I am doing a container garden, plus I rent. Soon as I see how things are growing, my next big step will be dehydrator & a canning supplies.
One step at a time ~ and thanks for the inspiration…..

Thanks so much for the giveaway!! I would love to try out the container collection:) I and lacking in space and I think that it would be just the ticket for me!
Alissa Hogan says
Container mix! I’m doing my very first garden this year and bought seeds before I learned about GMO vs. Heirloom. I’d love to try your seeds!
Lauren Hurley says
Any of the three of the seed collections would be exciting to win and try but I would say probably the container collection as I’m running out of space with my perrenials taking over! (love your site!)
Kira says
I would like the lettuce mix. Tomatoes are far and away the queen of my garden.
Erica McColeman says
I would like to enter for the salad collection. My favorite thing to grow in the garden is snap peas. I love it when my kids just pick them straight from the garden and eat them.
Ike's says
Just came across this site today….absolutely in awe! Love it. If we had to choose, the container gardening pack would be our choice…not much space on our small lot, so we rock those terra cotta pots as best we can!
Melody Rudenko says
They all sound awesome. I think the organic salad seeds would be the best. Such a long growing season for greens in the PNW and so many places I could plant them. Window boxes, long pots on the porch, cover raised beds, and in the garden proper.
BRB says
I would have to go with Super Organic Salads Seed Collection since I think I am pretty much completely out of salad greens seeds!
Mimi says
I love growing cucumbers in my garden, for making all kinds of pickles! I would love the Super Organic Salads Seed Collection! I’ve never grown arugula or radishes but I think they would be an awesome addition to my salads!
Susie says
Container for sure – I think I could actually make that happen!
OLGA HAZEN says
Any collection would help me as we are on limited income.
Stephanie says
I really like to grow tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, onions, and lettuce. The container set looks nice but the Super Organic Salads seed collection has some things that are new to me that would be fun to try!
Tanya says
Fast food seed collection sounds great. Favorite thing grown in past year is Swiss Chard – will grow through our mild winter in Georgia, and we harvest by cutting low to ground so that new leaves sprout out. Probably on cuttings 3 or 4 from our plants. And even our 5 and 7 yr old will eat these pretty colored greens!
Holly says
Organics! 🙂
My favorite thing to grow is Spinach. It grows all year-round for me. I live in upstate NY, and we have cold, snowy winters, but I have raised beds and make a little hoop house for my greens every winter–they slow down but produce all winter long. The best spinach ever is winter-grown–crisp, thick, green and SO flavorful!
Jessica says
I would love either the container vegetable or fast foods collections. I haven’t gardened since I was a teenager, but would like to start gardening with my preschool aged son.
Culley says
I would love the fast food seedlings! I have not been able to find the broccoli raab from one of your recipes!! Need to grow it 🙂
TXShell says
It’d have to be the super salad! I love getting volunteer lettuce each year
Jared Campbell says
I would love to win the ‘Super Organic Salads Seed Collection’. My family loves salad!
Anissa Telle says
Wow, hard to choose. I guess the super organic salad collection but the fast food and container veggies sound tempting too. Putting in potatoes and snap peas tomorrow!
