First I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has sent in a garden gnome for our Send in the Gnomes fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
We started this crazy adventure just under 3 weeks ago and so far 139 gnomes have come in from all over the world. You can see all of the gnomes that were sent in HERE.
Our goal is to collect 1,000 garden gnomes and set out on an epic adventure this summer placing garden gnomes in public, community and children’s gardens all the way from Seattle to the St. Jude Children’s Garden in Memphis, Tennessee.
Yesterday we opened a box full of gnomes from Beth.
Beth has a rare brain tumor that St. Jude has been helping her fight for the past few years. Beth and her mom Leah wanted to be a part of this gnome a licious project and sent in a whopping 5 gnomes!
Beth, you are AWESOME and I’m glad you are getting the help you need. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you continue to heal and I am so grateful we can help your hospital.
We placed your gnomes in our pea patch for now, but will make sure they all make it to St. Jude when we load up the Motor Gnome this summer. Stay strong kiddo. You and your friends are the reason we are doing this!
Hugs and Kisses,
~Mavis

Giving back is cool. St. Jude’s, here we come!
Please send gnomes by August 1st, 2013 to:
Mavis Butterfield
P.O. Box 2083
Gig Harbor, Washington 98335
Under no circumstance will any gnome be returned. By donating a gnome to the Send in the Gnomes project you are giving Mavis and her helpers full authority to place your gnome, or anything else you send in, anywhere in the world.

Oh man, I just sent in a gnome, and paid $24 in shipping!!! I should have looked at your wishlist first – I bet Amazon would have shipped it to you for free! Check out the wishlist, folks! There are some great deals!
Mavis says
Thank you Sarah. Your Gnome will be loved. 🙂

Hey Mavis! Glad you liked those gnomes we sent you. I just wanted to write and let you know that although I may have sounded like a cute little bald kid, I am not really. I do have the brain tumor, I am being treated at St. Jude, but I am 20 years old and on my way to bigger and better things because of St. Jude. It is my absolute favorite when people find a way to connect to St. Jude in a way that will impact them as well and that’s what you have done! Awesome! I am trying to do the same thing through glass beads.
Thank you again for doing what your doing (and the cool shout out on your page!) because you are probably doing a whole bunch more than you will ever know.

Ha! I am still twice your age so technically you are still a kid! 🙂 🙂 Thank you for a link to your site I will check it out tonight. Let’s hope we get a bunch of gnomes to bring to St. Jude! Stay Strong, Mavis 🙂
