Emily from North Habor Bag Co. suggested I check out an app called WoofTrax. The app allows you to track each time you take your dog for a walk, and in turn, donates to your local animal shelter. So, Fido gets out and gets much needed exercise, and another animal gets closer to a second chance. How awesome is that?!
I thought the idea was so pay-it-forward-ish in the best way possible that I better share-it-forward. So, now you know.
Download it, use it, feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Hi Mavis,
I think the Woof Tracks is a great idea for getting donations for your local shelter, but I can’t help wondering what the motivation of the creator of the app. would be for doing this? So often it only boils down to money, so how are “they” going to make money on this? Do they sell your information or do they try to sell you something? Sorry to be so skeptical….would like to believe it is just a good person trying to motivate people to do something nice!

WalkForADog is the app I use. Same thing, it keeps track of how far and how long you have walked and makes a small donation to the shelter of your choice. Love it!
