Recently One Hundred Dollar a Month reader, Melanie, suggested I watch the Alfred Hitchcock movie Rear Window. After reading the premise, I got a pretty good chuckle. It’s about a man confined to a wheel-chair after breaking his leg. He passes his day by watching all of his neighbors’ lives unfold in the front courtyard.
Man-oh-man, can I relate…since I’ve started watching the neighbors out of my front window, I’ve learned a thing or two about their habits and lives. I’ll definitely have to check this one out {and maybe invest in some binoculars.} 😉
Thanks Melanie for the suggestion!
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,

Classic Hitchcock! Wonderful leading man. Gorgeous leading lady. (Grace Kelly is just soooo stunning). A little comic relief thrown in. I think you will enjoy it. Don’t forget to look for Hitchcock’s cameo appearance. He shows up in a scene in every one of his movies.
Have a great weekend.

It’s a great movie.

Ooh, I love “Rear Window.” No blood. No guts. No chainsaws or fiendish clowns. Just pure, old-fashioned, dig-your-nails-into-the-sofa-cushions suspense.

ANYTHING with Jimmy Stewart is worth your time. Especially It’s a Wonderful Life, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Philadelphia Story, The Glenn Miller Story (oh, the music!!!) and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. He was one of the greats!

That is hands-down one of my favorite movies of all time! And how beautiful is Grace Kelly?! Hope you enjoyed watching it. I’ll have to get it from my library to watch this weekend.

I have never grown tired of this movie (ironically, peering in the lives of these characters through my video window!) The cast is stellar and Hitchcock’s way of telling the story is amazing. Jimmy Stewart plays the guy we identify with, even if he’s not perfect. He’s hot, sweaty, bored, and frustrated. The tension as we wait for him to figure it out is palpable (will he figure out his relationship with Lisa?!– that is equally tense and exciting). The photography of Grace Kelly is magnificent, and her wardrobe — the stuff that dreams are made of . . . . .
