Mrs. Hillbilly was planning on popping by yesterday to check out my new garden boxes. That was it. But when I called her right before she headed over and suggested we stop by the nursery to pick up some veggie starts for her garden, she was like, “Okay, that would be fun.”
Then, as we headed off down the road I suggested we try out the new Harbor Market Cafe/Coffee Shop that had just opened up downtown.
We stopped and both ended up both ordering one of their chicken, spinach and tomato stuffed crepes. It was flipping delicious. I don’t even think I put my fork down once and I seriously thought about ordering a second crepe it was so good.
Is it just me, or does food taste better when someone else prepares it?
Anywho, after a quick breakfast, made it to the nursery. Not the original nursery we we planning on going to, but since Rosedale Gardens close to where we were headed, we stopped there first to take a look around. {Does anyone know if that is a hydrangea plant? If so, what is the variety called? I think I might want to plant a few along my fence line.}
10 foot tall pink flamingos. Who wouldn’t want a flock of these beauties in their backyard? Seriously. The HOA doesn’t seem to have a problem with my 50+ plastic flamingos grazing in the backyard so I’m pretty sure I could slip a few of these in without anyone noticing, don’t you think?
After all was said and done, we made 4 stops and came home with a car full of plants. Not to shabby for an impromptu date. Ha!
Happy Wednesday,

that does look like a climbing hydrangea. I have one in my back yard that climbs the stairs to our deck. They provide green cover and small flowers in the summer. You can buy a small one at any nursery – mine is only three years old and has grown a lot. They do just fine in shade.

Thanks for the info. I kind of fell in love with them so you might be seeing them in a post soon if I can work them into my plan!

My friend had one that grew up her chimney…on either side of the chimney were long windows. Each year a robin would nest there and she could watch the mom, the egg, and the baby hatch. Very cool!

Climbing Hydrangeas can take a little while to get started; I planted one at my MIL’s and it sat there for a year or two before finally going gangbusters.

I think those flamingos would look awesome looking over your new fence! :0D

Hi, I can’t believe you have over 50 flamingos now. Wow. I think you’ve started something I got a great cushion yesterday with a flamingo wearing sunglasses printed onto it! I’ve never even so much as glanced at a flamingo until recently.
