Nailed it.
2. Run, walk or crawl a Marathon, half marathon, 10k, and 5k race this year.
Hey! I signed up for a race. Can you believe it? Maybe this will motivate me to knock this goal off my list this year. We’ll see.
3. Remodel our Master Bathroom, Master Closet and Monkey Boy’s Bathroom. Done!
4. Finish Every Room in Our House.
I’m still working on this one but if I can find a find a few items {like a coffee table, end table, and a night stand} I like {and for a good price} I should be able to get this checked off the list by the end of the year. True, I still have a lot of painting to do, but I can always do that in the fall/winter months. Right?
5. Turn Spare Bedroom into a Cozy Home Office Space for myself.
Little known fact: The HH doesn’t really READ my blog. He mostly just scans the pictures and reads the comments if there are a lot of them on a particular post. That being said… I think this is a pretty safe place to tell you that for the third house in a row, I think I’ll be taking his office space away from him and using the spare bedroom as, well, a spare bedroom. When we first moved here I thought I wanted a craft room. Mostly because I thought I’d be stuck inside all the time and unable to garden. But now that the fence is up, I really have no desire for a craft room.
Doesn’t everyone do their art projects on the dinning room table anyway? Seriously. What was I thinking? Luckily we already have a bed frame and mattress from the last house still sitting in the garage. Stay tuned!
6. Create a Vegetable Garden.
BRING.IT.ON.
7. Build a Path into the Hillside for Easy Access to the Upper Garden. We decided to build a fence instead.
8. Limit my personal spending to $100 a month.
Luckily plants and seeds do not fall into this category. This weeks personal purchase: a Dig for Victory Mug off Amazon.
In May I spent $11.50.
In April I Spent $18.46.
In March I Spent $42.44.
In February I Spent $32.52
In January I Spent $84.33
9. Purge… Weekly. Find 10 things each week to donate to the thrift store.
All this stuff is headed to the neighborhood garage sale in July. And if it doesn’t sell, the thrift store. I plan on pricing everything this weekend and boxing it up so it’s ready for the sale. I still have the storage room and the craft room to go through but I’m hoping to have my 520 {donated or sold items} taken care of by the end of summer. Yee-Haw! Purging feels good.
10. Read 1 book a week. – My goal is to read 52 books this year.
I am still finishing up Empty Mansions {it is FASCINATING} and next up on my reading list is Notes from a Blue Bike. Have you read it?
11. Slow Down.
Ya, no. Not happening anytime soon.
12. Canning.
I didn’t can anything this week but I am looking forward to canning up a storm later this summer.
Did you set any goals for this year? If so, how are they coming along?

I love seeing your goals! I was inspired by you last year, so I made 12 for 2015 for myself. Some of my goals are on the back burner a bit, some have been working out great! Food storage and taking better care of my home and practicing an instrument daily have all been those ones that I’ve done really well.
Fantastic job on your progress!

Did I miss final pictures of the master bed/bath and Monkey Boy’s bathroom remodels?

I wished I lived close to you…..I would buy all the stuff you have set aside for your garage sale!

I generally don’t set formal goals but there are heaps of goals running about my head!
I loved your book reading goal and because I read a lot I thought this year I would keep a tally. So far I am up to 42.
Also think the idea of donating 10 items a week to an op shop (thrift shop) is really good. Considering adopting this one. My husband would be thrilled!

Ha! Husbands are funny that way.

Snicker – I just told him about this idea… should have seen his face light up!
Mind you it provoked an interesting discussion about us doing this – ie: I am meant to donate my stuff but apparently he doesn’t have any junk!
🙂 🙂

Ok, I DO live close enough to go to your garage sale!! AND, I also have white serve wear (including the same oblong bowls from Costco!), would love to add to my stuff!! And LOVE those glass canisters!! So Mavis, do we get a heads up and first dibs? I’ve only been to a few garage sales, and they were horrible, kinda soured me, but I’d come a runnin to yours!
Mavis Butterfield says
Tracy, because I’ve had requests about purchasing some of the items I was planning to sell, I’ve decided the only fair way to handle it is to put everything out in the yard sale as originally planned. It will be a first come, first serve sale so get there early if you are interested.

Ok, where??? When???
