I’ve been working on going through all the junk/treasures in the storage room over the last few weeks {saving things like linens, extra dishes and furniture for Monkey Boy} and am happy to report I am about 90% finished. There are still a few things I need to add to the garage sale pile but for the most part, I just need to box stuff up.
2. Run, walk or crawl a Marathon, half marathon, 10k, and 5k race this year.
I ran/walked a 5k a few weeks ago and am signed up for a half marathon at the end of July. That will give me about a month to train after my 30 survival food challenge is over.
3. Remodel our Master Bathroom, Master Closet and Monkey Boy’s Bathroom. Done!
4. Finish Every Room in Our House.
I am getting there! Mrs. HB installed a new dining room chandelier and is selling her old one. Since our dining room has a lame button light, a chandelier is on my list of things to buy {along with curtains} for the dining room. I’ll have to pop by later this week and see if her old one will work in the room.
5. Turn Spare Bedroom into a Cozy Home Office Space for myself. I stole the HH’s office instead and Lucy claimed the guest bedroom.
6. Create a Vegetable Garden. Done. I harvested a few radishes last night!
7. Build a Path into the Hillside for Easy Access to the Upper Garden. We built a fence instead. {The actual staining of the fence is taking a little longer than expected}.
8. Limit my personal spending to $100 a month.
Last week I picked up a few furniture items while I was out scoping out garage sales. Since we DO have a furniture budget, I am only counting the $5 cutting board as a personal spending item {we already have 3 others, but this one was CRAZY big}.
So far in June I’ve spent $6.00 out of my personal spending budget.
In May I spent $26.50.
In April I Spent $18.46.
In March I Spent $42.44.
In February I Spent $32.52
In January I Spent $84.33
9. Purge… Weekly. Find 10 things each week to donate to the thrift store.
More crapity crap for the yard sale.
10. Read 1 book a week.
After watching Miss Potter a few weeks ago, a noticed Beatrix Potter’s Gardening Life on Amazon and requested a copy from the library. I’m about 1/3 of the way through the book and I LOVE learning about all the places she summered and found inspiration for her books. If you are a Beatrix Potter fan I highly recommend the book.
11. Slow Down. Ha!
12. Canning
So far this year I have canned blueberry, strawberry and raspberry jam.
Did you set any goals for this year? If so, how are they coming along?

Mavis~~ Thank you so much for recommending the Beatrix Potter’s Gardening book. I picked up at the library this week as well, and finished it yesterday. I love the detailed descriptions of her gardens, the photographs, and illustrations. Thank you!
Have a super weekend!
