Reader Jenny emailed me recently:
“We watched the documentary Blackfish on Netflix last night. It was excellent. But only watch it if you’re okay with never going to Sea World again?!”
So Blackfish is on the docket for tonight. I’ve heard it’s pretty controversial. I’ll keep you posted on what I think.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,

I watched this and enjoyed it. It is real and gritty. I followed this up by watching “Swimming with Killer Whales” on Netflix. It is the other side of spending time with Orcas in the wild. Maybe next week?

Gut wrenching. made me not even want to go to to zoos ever again. reminds you that there’s so many things you just accept and take for granted and don’t think about how it happens – just to make your life easier/ better.

I have watched this in the past and it is very powerful. I will never go to Sea World again. I live on Whidbey Island in Washington State where orcas were captured in the late 60s and 70s. It is truly horrendous what was done to these intelligent, magnificent animals.

Oh Blackfish will change you! In a good way. But a sad way. It makes you re-think everything about animals in captivity. I cried both times I watched it.
