Last month I started watching the 14+ hour documentary The War: A Ken Burns Film with the HH and holy canolies it was eye opening on so many levels. So much history, so much sadness, so much triumph and so many personal accounts of what it was like to be fighting in World War 2 {abroad and on the home front}. I seriously recommend putting it on your watch list {it’s free for Prime Members, and broken up into 7 episodes}.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

The Ken Burns series are so very good! We watched the Civil War and the Dust Bowl as well, with the kids too. Such interesting history. All well worth the time spent!

Both my MIL and my Mom received notification that their husbands were missing in war. My MIL had just given birth, and my Mom got the news when my dad was missing while in training as a pilot. Fortunately they were both found within a week, but I can just imagine what it must have been like.
