I’ve seen Shawshank Redemption probably a dozen times, but it doesn’t matter how many times I watch it, I’m affected every time. You know those movies that are so moving, so good, that you sit in stunned silence when the credits start rolling. Shawshank Redemption is one of those movies. It’s really one of the best movies ever made. So so good.
At the heart of the story is a Maine banker, played by Tim Robbins, who is unjustly convicted of killing his wife and her lover after he discovers that she is having an affair. But it’s the life lessons told after his conviction lands him in Shawshank and he meets Morgan Freeman’s character that really make this movie incredible.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

Yup – one of my favourites. Seen it heaps. I think what I like most is the justice all around at the end and the beautiful way it finishes on that beach!

My husband and I, whenever we stumble on this movie while flipping through channels, call it being “Shawshanked” because before we know it, 3 hours have passed and we’ve watched it yet again! Love this movie.
