Need to keep the kiddos busy while you finish up some holiday chores? These handprint Christmas wreaths only need intermittent supervision {that’s my second favorite kind of supervision, next only to none at all.} They look pretty dang cute hanging in the window or on the door–and if you make them each year, you’ll be amazed at the difference a year makes in the size of their little paws.
You’ll Need:
- 2 different shades of green construction paper
- Red construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil
- Ribbon
Directions:
Have the kids trace their hand on a piece of the green construction paper. Repeat the process on all of the green construction paper {this is a good step if you need to keep them busy}, otherwise, staple all of the green construction paper together, putting the hand traced paper on top. Cut out the handprint. If you stacked them, you’ll have a ton of handprints in one go, if not, the kids can cut out each handprint individually.
Now, layer the handprints in a circle pattern, gluing the overlapping part of the handprint cutouts together as you go.
When the handprints have made a full circle, cut out several little circles out of red paper. Glue the red circles to the wreath in clusters of three {the goal is to make them look like holly berries}.
To hang the wreath, either tape it to the surface, or loop a piece of ribbon around the top of the wreath and tie it to create a little hanger for the wreath.
And that, my friends, is how memories are made.
Happy Holidays,
Mavis
