I just noticed Call the Midwife, season 4, is available on Netflix. Wahoo!! Now we all have a reason to stay in our pj’s all weekend. If you haven’t watched Call the Midwife yet, I am going to need you to commit to catching up immediately {and seriously question your priorities–are you feeding the kids over binge watching this? If so, it’s time to reevaluate}. The show follows a group of midwives in London–season 4 is set in 1960. The stories are really, really captivating…especially if you are a woman.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

The latest Christmas special was on PBS on Christmas day! Watch it online before it disappears! Finish series 4 first, though, or you’ll be confused.

We are watching an old SciFy marathon on TCM.

Our personal favorite!!! My only concern is that on the Christmas special for this new season, Chummy was nowhere to be seen!!! We love Chummy and need to have her back!!!!!

I love “Call The Midwife!” I’ve seen them all, but my family is less than thrilled…too much screaming during the childbirth scenes.

I love, Love, LOVE “Call the Midwife” … thank you for posting that there is now Season 4 available on Netflix! Happy New Year, Mavis!

My husband and I have enjoyed Midwives and my husband read the series the show is based on. It reminds me very much of All Creatures Great and Small, with midwifery instead of vetting. It has that “you’re laughing and then it kicks you in the gut” aspect. I jokingly, with perfect seriousness, have told friends who want grandchildren to keep daughters who haven’t had kids away from it, though!

This is one of my all time favorite shows. It is so well done and I cry at almost all of the episodes! The emotions in in are so well written and acted.

I luv luv luv luv this series. I started watching it by chance while living in Belgium. I was flipping through all the channels late at night and came across one speaking English and started watching and fell in love. I am a nurse so it caught my attention right away. Every Sunday night I would stay up late on the couch and watch BBC, looking forward to the humor and drama. I think I know what I am doing today…………….NETFLIX BINGE season 4. Me, dogs, couch, coffee and snacks…….it’s a date! 😉

I am nearly done with this season on Netflix. It’s hard, because my kids don’t go to bed at a reasonable hour. On the other hand, when the 3 year old is fighting bed time, it puts him to sleep.
