Attention Julia Child fans: Thanks to a transfer in ownership, you can now have a culinary vacation in Julia Child’s vacation home in France. The vacation will allow you to stay in the same home where Julia Child and her husband, Paul spent their summers in. You’ll also get to experience cooking lessons in her iconic and perfectly replicated kitchen, complete with extra tall counter-tops.
The home recently changed ownership, and the new owners have decided to provide the complete Julia Child experience for up to 6 lucky guests. Reservations will begin this June and rates will be around$590 USD per night and the cooking course starts at $2,550 {wowza!}.

What do you think, is this a must-do vacation for you?

If $590 a night is a little steep, maybe you can recreate your own Julia Child’s experience, from the comfort of your own kitchen.

Back in 1994, my best friend and I went to the Food and Wine Experience in Aspen, Co. We had a great time which included a cooking class with Julia Child. She was great and very charming! We also stood in line for 45 minutes to have her sign our cookbooks. Saying all that, I would not pay that kind of money to have the experience in France. I just don’t see the need to do that, but some of my other friends never did quite understand why I went to Aspen. I guess it’s all in your perspective.

Earlene, I understand and agree with you. Given the oppurtunity to have a cooking class with Julia Child I would of done just about anything to get there. I bet you cherish that signed cookbook. I would of stood in line even longer if given the chance. Staying in her vacation home in France would be lovely and cooking in her kitchen would be fun but at that price I will stay home with my cookbooks.
