Ever since my free upgrade to an Ocean Front Cottage on Cape Cod, I’ve been kind of obsessed with the Cape Cod vacationing culture. There are hundreds of family who are deeply rooted in the tradition of Cape Cod summers. Let me tell you, Bob, now I totally get why. There is an indescribable atmosphere to the place. So, when I ran across Starboard Light, a documentary about a family who sells their 200 year-old Cape Cod vacation home, I totally put it on my list. {If you have Netflix, it’s free to stream.} I have a feeling it might be a tear-jerker.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

If you haven’t yet, check out Prairie Quest on Amazon Prime, a Canadian documentary, circa 2000. It is a “reality” show where two couples live 1870s style for a year for $100,000 (Canadian dollars, of course). We’re on episode 4 and it’s quite interesting. The young couple are hard core, that’s for sure!
Even my husband, who normally hates this stuff, is hooked! 🙂

Ooooops…my bad. The name of the show is Pioneer Quest.

Thanks for the movie suggestion. We really enjoyed it. A bit sad. I love old generational homes and visit them when I can. it was heartbreaking to hear how difficult it is for families to hold on to them. By the way…I think you are awesome.
