I am so excited to watch Big Eyes. I’ve been wanting to watch it for a few years, but I’ve had other movies in line ahead of it on my list. It’s based on the true story of Walter Keane {Christoph Waltz}, who was one of the most successful painters 1950s and early 1960s. The artist earned a massive following and changed the art game in his time with painting of girls with big eyes. The truth would eventually be discovered though: Keane’s paintings were actually not created by him at all, but by his wife, Margaret {Amy Adams}.
I’ve heard such good things about this movie, so I’m hoping it lives up to the hype! Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

Saw this at my brother’s house in St. Louis. Totally movie roulette since we hadn’t heard of it before. I came back home by train to Illinois and missed the ending. My brother had to fill in the details. It sounded like a satisfactory ending to an interesting tale. Enjoy!

I watched it a few months ago. We rented it from Family Video. I LOVED IT! I really like Amy Adams as an actress and she really was great in this movie. I hope you love it too!

I liked it and remembered the Big Eyes pictures from when I was little. I think they used to give them away as some tissue company’s promos. I thought the relationship with her husband was interesting. He was so controlling! Loved Amy Adams in this. I hope you enjoy it.
I am going to watch Mr. Holmes tonight. I love anything to do with Sherlock. Have you read any of the Mary Russell novels? It’s a series of novels where she marries Holmes and they solve mysteries together – great series.

We saw it about a month ago. Was totally surprised by the story. Had no idea that it was true and what happened. Really makes you think about how lucky we are.
