Look at all those delicious pastries!!!!
It used to be that when I went to a pastry shop I was happy with buying just one thing…. But with this whole save the bakeries goal this year, you guys have turned me into a MONSTER! Seriously. How could I possibly say no to all the delicious goodness last weekend at Blackbird Bakery on Bainbridge Island?
I did pass on the granola though… 😉 So there’s that. Ha!
Never before could I imagine paying $32 for a pie. Until I tried theirs. FREAKIN’ awesome! I’m sorry but Costco just can’t duplicate a cherry pie made with love.
Nettle lemonade. Have you tried it? I didn’t.
I’m more of a tea drinker. 😉
I told the HH that we are going back to Bainbridge Island for our next date day. Seriously, I am smitten with the place.
More yummy goodness that should be made into lip gloss or bubble bath.
The Girl and I were in the bakery for a good 30 minutes. And you know what? There was a line 10-12 deep the entire time. That my friends, is how you know you’ve found a good spot.
What we ordered:
Blueberry coffee cake, cherry pie, morning glory muffin, lemon tart, berry pie and a blueberry scone. And guess what? The Girl and I ate everything in those boxes in less than 24 hours. We didn’t even share. Because we are totally little piggies.
Oink Oink!
Moral of the story:
If you ever find yourself on Bainbridge Island… go to Black Bird Bakery. And if you need a lunch date, well, you know how to find me.

P.S. We totally give this place a 5 out 5.

Nettles are supposed to help with allergies, I hear. Still not sure I’d want to drink it.

Good to know—my sister lives on Bainbridge but I’ve never been there and haven’t heard her speak of it. I’ll have to ask her! I love Bainbridge but waiting for the ferry in Seattle, ugh…one of my least favorite things to do. I don’t know if creperie counts as a bakery, but while on Bainbridge check out J’Aime Les Crepes just of Winslow Way. Super yummy!

I’ll take the box of goodness on the right, please! That lemon tart is what first caught my eye, then again it is always hard for me to pass up anything berry!, yet that scone looks like heaven!!! 🙂

I went to the Blackbird Bakery this weekend and couldn’t where I had heard about it before…then I remembered your bakery goal and searched for this post :).
I had the spinach and chevre quiche and a “superchunk” chocolate cookie. SO GOOD!
