Before heading out the door early Friday morning I whipped up a batch of pasta and fried rice {staples around our house} to pop in the fridge for the peeps. The Girl called me this morning to tell me they made a pizza last night for dinner and the boys didn’t put away the leftovers so around midnight she was woken up by Lucy whining.
When she went to investigate she found Lucy sitting in front of the stove {in the dark!} staring at the cutting board on the stove. That puggle knew darn well there was still pizza there and she was trying to tell anyone that would listen that she wanted some. 🙂 🙂 🙂
The Girl has the willpower of a ninja though and so she wrapped up the leftovers and stuck them in the fridge, showed Lucy the empty cutting board and went back to bed.
🙁 Poor, poor Lucy.
The HH picked up $0.99 milk along with some bananas and eggs last week…
And The Girl picked up a few staples as well. I forgot to bring along the grocery receipts though so I’ll have to add in the amounts to my totals when I get back home.
As I mentioned yesterday I snagged a last minute deal and hopped a flight to Hawaii to hang out with my parents for Mother’s day. My parents LOVE to go out to restaurants and so they’ve been treating me to their favorite hot spots everyday.
I think my favorite so far though has been the avocado toast with beet hummus, cucumbers, pickled radish, pickled eggs and sprouts we had at the farmers market. It was my first time trying a pickled egg and man was it good!
And then of course there has been the nightly party platters.
And Mother’s Day dinner at Nobu…
Life, it’s fun when you change things up a bit.
And have elastic pants to wear when you get home. 😉
Have a WONDERFUL Monday everyone…

Nobu is really good. You should have breakfast or Sunday brunch at the Halekulani. Brunch is REALLY expensive but memorable.
