Fred Meyer $14.94
I picked up my 2 Friday freebies {tea and a fruity mocktails juice} along with discounted bread, eggs for $0.79 a dozen, cherries $1.99 lb and Gala apples $0.99 a pound. It seems like this year I’ve done the bulk of my grocery shopping at Winco {you just can’t beat their produce prices!} but I do try and take advantage of the deals at other stores when I’m in the area.
Albertsons $23.37 after $2.25 in iBotta rebates {$2 off 2 Newman’s Own dressing +$0.25 off any item}
Albertsons had Digiorno pizzas on sale for $3.99 each, bags of spinach for $1, Butter $1.99, Eggs $0.78, Newman’s Own $1.99, Mayo $2.00, Spaghetti $0.79, Nilla wafers $2.29. I LOVE Nilla wafers and currently have the box hidden in my nightstand drawer!! 😉
I used one of the bags of spinach in a bulgur salad. Anyone want the recipe?
Any Hostess Snoball fans at your house? Target had limited edition Snoballs ice cream and Hostess cupcake ice cream in their freezer section. My Dad loves Snoballs so I snapped a picture and sent it to my mom so she could pick him up a container. {Gag!}
Costco $18.75
Mrs. HB picked a few of the coupon items up for me at Costco last week. Have you tried the Boom Chicka Boom popcorn? My peeps love it and they’re on sale B1G1. And those peanut butter granola bars… I’m pretty sure I could eat an entire box myself they’re so good.
Zaycon – Chicken breasts
I also picked up 40 pounds of free chicken breasts last week thanks to some referral credits I had. I don’t have room in my freezer for 40 pounds of chicken so Mrs HB and I got together and made a bunch of freezer meals.
One of the freezer meals we made was my chicken spinach lasagna. Have you tried it? It’s one of our favorites and there are usually leftovers to pack in lunches the next day.
We also made chicken picatta, chicken Parmesan, chicken burgers, shredded chicken {for taco night and chicken Cesar salads, and then cut the remaining chicken up into strips for the grill and into 1″ bits for stir fry.
Mrs. HB and I haven’t gotten together to cook for about a month {or two} so it was nice to be able to get caught up on the latest happenings and put some meals together. We talked about getting back on track with meal planning once school starts up again and I’m looking forward to it. 🙂
Pizza at Seatac Airport before heading off on the HH’s business trip.
And the reason my pants don’t fit right now…
Seriously. Who eats this much food on a daily basis? Lumberjacks?
Eating delicious food 24/7 and not having to prepare it yourself is pretty rad… But you know what? I kind of missed my oatmeal and my quinoa salad everyday. Don’t get me wrong, traveling for business can be fun at times, but working from home? It’s pretty awesome.
It’s good to be home and back to my normal routine. Even if there’s no maid service and free toiletries waiting for me every day. 😉

I’m impressed with all of the freezer meal prep! We got Zaycon chicken once, and it was WAY too much work to process that much chicken. Anyway, I think they only came to our town once…nowadays the closest pickup for anything is 80 miles away.

I think if you’ve never done it before, or don’t have a plan for what to do with all that meat, it can be very overwhelming. Luckily I’ve got Mrs. HB and she’s usually up for anything. 🙂

Mavis, you need to try making your own kettle corn. Seriously, for just pennies and 5 minutes of your time, you can make your own. Tons of recipes out there, but I go by this one: https://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/easy-kettle-corn/

Mavis, it’s so nice to know I’m not the only one who puts food in the nightstand drawer. I think we’re soul sisters!
