An electrician will be here today to do some wiring {because the pop up projects never seem to stop around here} and I’ll be planting beans {for drying this fall} and hopefully I’ll be able to get some hooking time in if I’m lucky. Back over here in the PNW, we are trying to beat the rain and finish planting 10 acres of raspberries. We have about 1/4 to go. We are planting tissue cultured plants that are in little plugs of soil, wrapped with a biodegradable cloth. We ride on the back of a machine that makes holes exactly the size of the plugs. We push the plugs through the holes in biodegradable mulch and down into the soil. And then wait for them to grow! They look so tiny out there in the field…always amazing that next year, we will tie them to a 5 foot trellis and harvest the fruit. Grow little babies grow!! We are commercial growers, but it’s still gardening…just on a larger scale!
