First, thanks for such a great giveaway, and secondly, I look forward most to growing the Russian Mammoth Sunflower! I love the tall ones too, but more so for my older neighbor Lucy who has fond memories of them from her childhood in Lucca Italy during WWII. Her mother grew giant sunflowers and being a younger child, when the bombers would fly overhead, she would try to hide under the giant leaves of the sunflower thinking they would hide her. For her, they meant safe. I grow them every year, but now for her, not so much me since she told me that .

Jody Leason says
I will be newly retired this spring and so looking forward to spending time in my garden! In the past, we have had trouble with blight with our tomatoes, so I’m really trying to find a way to grow strong, healthy plants this year! My mouth just waters when I think of picking and eating fresh tomatoes from the garden!! I am hoping to produce enough to eat and can them for my family and bring lots to family and friends to enjoy!
Paula says
I would be most excited about the basil! I grew some of Botanical Interests’ Genovese basil last year. It was phenomenal! I’d love to give the seeds to my friend who is new to gardening. Big harvests are addictive!

The tomatoes!!!!!
Jayne says
Definitely the Sun Stripe Yellow Squash – How pretty they look 🙂 We are newly retired and looking to “grow” our garden this year. Up until now we have two very small raised beds. Now that we have more time for the garden we can spread our sites to more varieties of vegetables. We just need to make sure that our garden doesn’t become a buffet for all the deer. Looking forward to “gardening” with you this year 🙂

I am most looking forward to fresh garden peas but let’s be honest I am looking forward to it all! We had a tipsy-turvy year last year and didn’t get to do a garden and I really missed it. Why is it that everything grown in a garden tastes so much better than the store?
sharon k campbell says
I’ve never grown winter squash even though i LOVE butternut and acorn squash. I’d love to try the sweet meat winter squash. Maybe I’d have a new favorite.

I just narrowly escaped a neighborhood that was going to restrict the height of my garden plants. In celebration of that, I’d love to try and grow a sunflower that WAYYYYY exceeds their height requirements, haha! Thanks Mavis.

But truely I would be excited for any of them! I know everyone here would also be over the moon for this collection, but I think my household would be the more excited than anybody else. Catherine De Mulder-Johnston says
I absolutely love homegrown tomatoes! They taste sooo much better than the ones from the supermarket. I’ve grown tomatoes for many years, but never from seed. I’ve always been limited to whatever varieties of tomato plants were available at my local garden center. I’d love to grow tomatoes from seed for the first time this year.
Ditto for the coleus. When I was a kid, my mom grew them, but her collection was limited by whatever cuttings she could get from friends and neighbors. I never knew you could grow them from seed.
I live in California. It would be fun to see how the same crops do on the west coast. Thanks for having this fun contest.
Paula W says
For sure all the tomatoes. That picture of your tomato salad made my mouth water!

I have 1 1/2 acres and grow most of the food we eat, so new seeds are always welcome! I would love the large sunflowers! I always grow a sunflower hedge on the north side of my garden. If I would have to choose just one, then I would tip my hat towards the Musquée de Provence Pumpkin Seed or as I know them the Fairytale Pumpkin. But just because it is my favorite doesn’t mean I’d cast the other aside.
Andi says
Bumbles, please! All of it sounds wonderful when my yards are covered in white. I love cherry tomatoes – with a basil vinaigrette, baked until they’re jammy, chopped into a salsa, whirled and warmed into a fresh soup, but best of all is standing in the greenhouse eating them straight from the vine on a sunny day.
Kori F says
Ohhh toss up between the Sunstripe Summer Squash and the telescope cucumber!!! Thanks Mavis

Clearly the Summer Squash for me. I’m a newbie gardener (AND an Arizona desert gardener. Yes, our summers can get to 120 degrees, so gardening here is a “challenge”). I’ve just undergone a naturopathic medically-supervised nutritional “makeover” As I am reaching 70 years old it was time to clear up some issues caused by inappropriate nutritional choices over the years and embrace a healthier lifestyle so that I can continue to be even more fit & healthy for the next 70 years :). My nutrition is now based largely around healthy proteins, fats AND tons of veggies. I need more varieties of veggies and organic ones. SO… I need to make growing my own veggies a priority in my life. And squash – I’m now a spiralizing maniac!!!
Cris Campbell says

Tracy says
I grow almost 50 different annual flower and vegetables from seed and practically lose my mind for about three months, starting them all, potting them all on, and finally planting them all out. Last year it was over 750 plants. But I must say, I crave a fresh, homegrown tomato the most. I’ll be growing nine varieties this year, but my two favorites are Sun Gold, because as you said, they’re just insanely tasty to eat out of hand, and a mid-size variety called Gardener’s Delight which I love for making a simple sauce that I freeze…seeds, skins and all. Cut in half and roasted on a sheet pan tossed in olive oil, salt, pepper and scattered with tons of garlic, Gardener’s Delight is a high acid tomato and very ‘tomato-y. I scrape the roasting sheet pan straight into a blender, add fistfuls of fresh basil and whizzzzz. I freeze it in entrée sized portions and eat it all year. It’s an Ina Garten recipe and is so stupid simple, and delicious.
Pam says

Allie says
The Detroit Beets!!!!!
