My 14 Goals for 2020
Goal #1 – Take Full Advantage of Having My Husband Home 24/7
Thankful for a husband who does all the gross jobs around the house like cleaning drains and emptying outdoor light fixtures full of bugs. GAG!
Goal #2 – Take Better Care of Myself.
I haven’t set an alarm since early spring, and waking up naturally rocks. Especially when most days include an early morning walk along the beach with Lucy looking for treasures.
This past week we found a lobster pot that had washed ashore as well as a buoy. Very exciting! Imagine all the things I’d find if we lived on a private island and I was the only one there to pull stuff off the beach. Lucy and I would have first dibs on EVERYTHING. 🙂
Goal #3 – Get Organized
September Goals
Finish all Christmas ornaments {done}Finish at least 1 rug{done!}Pull everything together for turkey rug{done!} Started hooking. 🙂
Finished all the ornaments and garden markers I’ll be making for this year, finished 1 rug and I’m nearly done with the Thanksgiving turkey rug I had hoped to finish by mid-October. Wahoo! I’m on a roll.
Goal #4 – Get Proper Window Coverings on All Our Windows. Done!
This is the tutorial I used in case anyone is interested. I decided not to make any shades for the sunroom windows. All that sunlight…. it’s too beautiful to cover up.
Goal #5 – Master Bedroom Make Over {Done}
I cut down a sisal rug {that The Girl and I found earlier this summer} to fit the spot where my writing desk sits which turned this little spot in the master bedroom into a nice space to work on the blog in the mornings. Plain and simple, light and bright. Just the way I like it.
Goal #6 – Kitchen Update Done!
The kitchen update is done and now the kitchen is being used as a wool sorting station. 🙂 This is why we can never have people over and why you’ll probably see me on the show hoarders in 20 years and every nook and cranny of our home will be stuffed with wool and I’ll be telling the host that we can’t get rid of this piece or that piece because I have PLANS TO USE IT in a project someday.
Goal #7 – Install Vegetable Garden Done!
We completed SO MANY garden projects this year, but I think I’m most proud of the garden boxes the HH made and the brick borders we installed to give the garden areas a more defined look.
It was a lot of work, but in the end it paid off and I’m looking forward to another growing season next year. Who knows… maybe I’ll try growing watermelons again.
Goal #8 – Explore More of Maine
I had planned on getting in the car to go somewhere but staying home with the puggle princess in my pajamas seemed like a better idea.
Goal #9 – Host Some Sort of Get Together Done!
We had dinner with our neighbors! 🙂 And had a yard sale. And I think that will be the extent of my social calendar for the year.
Goal #10 – Read/Listen to 12 Books
I currently have 3 audiobooks on hold but can’t remember what they are and the app on my phone is not working correctly so I can’t even tell you what they are. Technology, it’s kind of lame sometimes.

We have plans to make a nightlight but haven’t had the chance to get together.
Goal #12 – Visit 12 Museums, Historical Homes or Botanical Gardens {and bakeries too!}
The year started off great… we were visiting a lot of new places and then things just sort of fizzled out. And well, now fall is nearly here and all I want to do is stay home and hook rugs. 😉 But hey, almost 2 dozen new places… that’s not bad.

As of this morning, I have made 5055 sales on Etsy. That’s up from 2804 on January 1st. Wahoo! It feel so good to have completed that goal.
This past week I added a few more chicken ornaments to my Etsy shop as well as dyed oodles of wool for bundles {I’ll be working on getting those listed this week}. It was a very productive week. 🙂

Hi Mavis… Alarms suck… I don’t need to use mine that often but the one I have is mega-obnoxious. Its a Minion one and it SHOUTS “BEE DOH BEEE DOH BEEEEE DOH” I think we nearly wet the bed the first time we set it haha
Have I mentioned before how much I loved the swizzle sticks? So cool
Your garden looks amazing! So productive and neat! I strive for neat and end up with jungle.
We are just emerging from winter but I am still indulging in PJ days here and there…
Enjoy Autumn!!!

The first use of an alarm clock is always dicey. I was terrified of oversleeping when I was a classroom teacher, so I bought a “Sonic Boom Alarm Clock.” I didn’t test it before going to bed, and my husband and I both fell out of bed when it went off the next morning. The first thing we both remember upon opening our eyes was our dog, airborne. She apparently leapt straight into the air when it went off.

I love my alarm on my phone, it is set as a reminder to take both my morning and evening medication. It rings mid-day and the dogs know it is dog treat time, I find them waiting by the cupboard where the treat jar is kept. At 9:30 PM again when it rings they are waiting by the garden door to be let out for their final pee.

Seeing Lucy with her legs sticking out was so sweet! Reminds me of our Jack Russell Sophie, we would lift up the cover and she would head down by our feet and stay there and we would warm our toes on her. I’m so glad you have her and she has such a wonderful life!

Fur babies are the best bed warmers. 🙂

Congratulations Mavis !! On your 5055 sales on Etsy. Wow!!
Andrea says
Mavis,
Try installing the Libby app instead of the Overdrive app for the audiobooks. It tends to be more glitchy. Your holds won’t go anywhere, it’s just a different app (and better) to access the overdrive collection.
