Yesterday as soon as our guests left, I stripped all the beds and spent the rest of the morning doing laundry. Which was like 27 loads because our washing machine is so tiny and basically only holds the equivariant of 3 towels at a time.
Before JJ and her family came, we went back and forth with what we were going to do about additional sleeping arrangements as we only have the one guest room. I wanted to get real mattresses, and simple platform bed frames, but because of all my crafts supplies {seriously, this is an issue} we wouldn’t have a space to store them anywhere once our guests {and future ones} left.
So we bought a couple of air mattresses instead. Two of the EnerPlex Never-Leak Queen Air Mattress with Built in Pumps to be exact.
And well, they worked perfectly. They were easy to inflate/deflate and comfy too. Air mattresses have come a long way apparently since I was a kid.
After clearing out the craft room turned temporary guest room from the inflatable mattresses and other things put in there for our guests, the HH and I stood in the empty, freshly painted room and were like, you know, this would make a good sized master bedroom, it’s not too big, not too small…
And so what started out as an office for my husband when we first moved in, until one day he was gone an on errand for 8 hours so then I moved his desk out of his “office” in a hostel takeover and moved all my craft supplies in, has now become our master bedroom.
How a single room became an office, then a craft room and then a master bedroom all within a 9 month span seems kind of funny to me.
But hey! I have a new writing nook now. 🙂
And once I get the depressing dark grey walls in the master new craft room painted, I’ll have a nice large bright space to work on all my arts and craft projects and maybe… just maybe I won’t have to have everything spread out all across the house anymore. That’s the plan anyway.
Figuring out what belongs where… it takes time!
Have yourself a marvelous weekend, {I’ll probably be painting. Again.} 😉

The only consistency is change. I love that you keep readapting your space until it suits your needs. Thanks for the air mattress tips. I may try again.

You stole his office space? Hope he gets a man cave somewhere on the property.
