A couple of weeks ago the HH and I visited the town of Bath, Maine for the first time and holy cannolis people, I don’t know why we didn’t make the trip sooner.
Bath, Maine has a wonderful historic walking downtown area filled with specialty shops, cafe’s, restaurants and there is even an Italian bakery with homemade breads and pastries.
We loved the town of Bath so much, we went again last weekend.
One of the shops that really stood out to us was the kitchen store, Now You’re Cooking.
The store was huge and carried pretty much anything you could ever hope for in a kitchen store… and more.
My favorite part of the store though was all the specialty products they carried. Seville oranges in a can… How cool is that? I didn’t buy a can but I should have.
According to the label all you have to do is add sugar and water to make your own marmalade.
There was a nice tea selection.
And oodles of British biscuits.
Including my favorite Jammie Dodgers!!
Did I mention the downtown area is super cute and filled with mom and pop shops instead of big box stores? I LOVE THAT!
They even had a drop box for kids to place their letters to Santa.
Mel, I thought of you when I saw this advent calendar. 🙂
I told the HH that we should make it a point to go to Bath at least once a month this winter and check out a new eatery each time. Because 1 it would get us out of the house.
And 2 you just never know who you might run into. 😉
The historic town of Bath, it’s just another reason to visit the great state of Maine.
Have a great day everyone,
~Mavis

Hubby & I are moving to Maine in 2023, & I’m so excited to explore all these spots! We drove through Bath on our scouting trip earlier this year but didn’t get to properly stop & check it out.

I have made the marmalade and it is oh so good. Please get the oranges next trip back! We have only been to Bath in summer time and oh so cool then too, I know you are so busy in the summer but well worth a trip for the day.

I had the best cookie of my entire life when I stumbled over the Bath Farmer’s Market this summer. It was a rye apricot chocolate chunk cookie and I wished the whole 5 hour ride home that I’d bought more than one.

You guys make me laugh! Jamie dodgers, they are my husbands favourite too. The ma-made marmalades are brilliant, perfect result every time, they do a thick and thin cut and here in U.K. they used to do a lemon one too, hard to find but can get online from an alternative company ‘Home Cook’. Merry Christmas everyone from across the pond 🙂

We went to Hawaii in December 2019 and saw Santa there. He was vacationing from toy making. And resting up for Christmas.
