Here I am pulling up the last of the 1st planting of bush beans. The first planting yielded about 50lbs of beans. I have no idea what I was thinking when I planted a second batch. At this rate we will be eating green beans with every single meal thru winter/fall/next spring. Anyone have any good recipes?
I am picking about 5lbs of blackberries every 3rd day and freezing them for winter pies.
The monkeys are back from camp. I asked the little monkey man how come he only had 2 pairs of dirty socks in his laundry bag (I packed 7). He said, “Well, one pair got really wet and so I had to put on a clean pair.” This is a slight improvement over last year when he wore 1 pair of socks for the entire week. Hey, at least he brushed his teeth. I think.
I harvested a pitiful 5lbs of Australian Crescent potatoes from a patch that only got watered twice this season. Next year I plan on planting the potatoes closer to the house.
I discovered 2 little acorn squash growing in the corn patch. Yippee!
More peaches: 10 pints of peaches equal 7 pints of peach butter. Yummm!
