I had an appointment down south the other day and so I popped by Costco to pick up a rotisserie chicken and bananas and was happy to find some sweet deals at Costco while I was there.
Let’s just say I left with a few more things than chicken and bananas! 😉
Late January and early February is one of the best month’s for Costco deals if you ask me. Not only are they still trying to clear out the holiday items, but it’s also a fantastic time of year to pick up a few garden supplies as well.
Planning on remodeling your bathroom? The vanities at Costco are 100% better made than the off the shelf ones you’ll find at the big box home improvement stores in my opinion.
And they’ve got a few greenhouses in too!
I thought of Kiln Guy when I saw this one.
They also had raised garden beds too but I forgot to snap a photo of those. And of course all the popular garden chemicals and landscape fabric as well.
I was tempted to snatch up a pack of SOLO cups for seed starting, but remembered the ones I’ve been using for the past 3 years are still in good shape so I passed.
I like using SOLO cups to start plants in because you can see the root development and keep an eye on their moisture level too.
Bed sheets… $12.99. I thought that was a deal!
And plush throws for $9.97! Another bargain if you ask me.
Kids thermal wear for $2.97.
They also had mens and womens for $4.97. I grabbed a pack.
I don’t know what the original price on this antipasto bar was but for $9.97, I grabbed one for the HH. I may steal a few of those olives though for a loaf of my Dutch oven olive and rosemary bread.
And soon to be on sale at Costco… A premium shoe shine kit. No explanation needed on that one. Especially this time of year in Maine.
Also, no takers on Louis. I think Mainers are a wee bit more practical than that. 😉 But what do I know? Maybe you’re the type of person who would buy a $4500 suitcase on a whim when all you really went in for was a rotisserie chicken? I shouldn’t speculate.
Are you a Costco member? Have you seen any deals at Costco lately? Do tell.
~Mavis
P.S. Everytime I see a Louis Vuitton suitcase I think of this movie scene. Maybe you do too?

LOVE Costco — and big thanks for the movie rec! Maybe I missed it the first time around but it looks like a real Valentine for me! <3

My friend got the greenhouse. Her engineer son and son in law put it up for her. It is well made. Has an automatic sun roof that opens when it hits a certain temp.

That’s good to know! Thanks Mary. 🙂

I remember you once discussing growing dahlias – I bought 3 bags of tubers very reasonably at Costco last spring and they did GREAT. If you see any next time and are still interested, grab some!

I’m glad your bulbs from Costco worked out. Mine were always duds so I stopped buying them there.

I love Leap Year! I also use Solo cups for seed planting, but I was only thinking of the size. When the time comes to replace them, I’ll definitely get the clear type. Thanks for tip!

You NEED the bigger greenhouse!!! It’s so cute! Thanks for the link to that movie. Now I’m watching all kinds of YouTube videos! I hope everything is okay with you. You’ve been having a lot of appointments down south!

I can vouch for the blanket and the sheets.
I use the blanker on my couch for evening snuggling. So soft. Great price.
The sheets are on the guest bed. My husband slept on them for a week (covid isolation) and said they were in his words ‘just fine’. Thats high praise from him.

I love Costco but try and avoid it for practical financial reasons. The less I’m in the store the less I shop. 😉

I love Costco and have bought many large items there – when they are on sale. 🙂
I also love the fact that if you buy something and it goes on sale within 30 days, they will refund you the difference. I go there every week – with a list – but I do “window shop” to see what new things they have. My hubby is always with me (we do the grocery shopping together) and that helps me to stay on track.
Mary says
Ah, the differences between Costco in the States and Costco in Canada…. Don’t think I’ve ever seen prices that low on anything. I do love finding the deals though, and there are often some that I can’t resist, even in Canadian dollars!

I was swooning over the larger greenhouse just before Christmas and then my son gave us a similar one for Christmas. I can’t wait to put it together and get growing.

I added a bathroom in my house and almost everything came from Costco … the vanity, the flooring, the faucets and shower fixtures, the tile … I spent thousands less and it’s all super high quality. (Doesn’t hurt that the double vanity was “last one clearance!”)
Annette says
Costco TP also, I assume? 🙂
Teri says
Did you buy the greenhouse?
Mavis Butterfield says
Nope. 🙂

We have the brown plush throw for our little poochie boy. He loves to snuggle in it. Perhaps Lucy needs one for the bonus cozy factor?? I was just at our Costco yesterday and they were out; otherwise I would have picked up a second. They are so nice!

Love Costco, but it is in the next town so we go monthly unless we are in town. This month I got a sweater for $5 and a set of two Wet hair brushes and scrunchies for $6, regular $20. I had never tried that brand of brush, but for that price I was willing to. I usually don’t brush my hair, but it worked great.
J in OH-IO says
That is a great deal! Love the Wet brush brand! We don’t know what we did before using them as they are so gentle on hair with getting the tangles out!
Maria says
I own several of the throws and love them, they wash beautifully! AND, I got the larger greenhouse last year and am considering a second one. Like you, I live in a cold climate (middle of Wisconsin) and need all the help I can get starting my plants!!
