Looking for something to read this weekend? Check out Dig for Your Dinner in February: Growing Your Meals, One Month at a Time it’s free this weekend only!! How cool is that?
If you don’t have kale on your list of veggies to grow this year, you may want to reconsider. The kale I planted in my garden last fall is still alive and kickin’. I’m beginning to believe kale can survive in any kind of weather.
Last night I listed round one of the hand dyed wool I’ve been working on the past few weeks. Isn’t it beautiful?
I think I’ll take the weekend off from dyeing wool though and put my feet up. I scored all 7 seasons of Mad Men from the library sale table for 5 bucks! What a deal!
Yep. That’s pretty much my plan for the weekend. Binge watching Mad Men and working on my latest rug.
How about YOU? What are your plans for the weekend? I hear there’s a big football game this weekend… But I think I’d rather watch Mad Men and hook.
Have a good one,
~ Mavis

What’s the best kale for salads? I’ve been using lacinato but wanting to expand my options. They’re all so pretty but aphids love my lacinato. Maybe it’s a problem for all varieties.

Sounds like a great weekend. You can’t go wrong with Mad Men. Enjoy!

I hope you love Mad Men as much I did! Such a great show with lots of nostalgia – some good, some not so much. But you’ve made me think I should watch it again!

Your wool is BEAUTIFUL!
Congratulations to the winners!
I plan to spend this rainy weekend working on a puzzle and playing games with my kids.
Mavis, I bought the mascara you recommended. It is great! Thanks for the recommendation.

Ahh! Madmen-my “lil” sister was a make up artist on the show and was nominated for her first Emmy for her work! I am the proud big sis.
Tricia Sawyer.
I have had the honor of tagging along for many of her filming adventures, because of her I got my first passport stamp. Sisters-they are just the best!
Such a good show-enjoy!
PS:
I am enjoying the west coast version of chocolate-See’s candy tonight, bough myself a few of my favorites…

Hmm.. I have never watched Mad Men but it makes me want to binge my favorite show, Lark Rise To Candleford, during the big game. I never would have thought of it, but now, I cannot think of anything else. Well, maybe some pretzel and marshmellow chocolate dipping for the kiddos for Valentine’s Day. Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
P.S. I ordered some chocolates from Wright’s for Valentine’s Day the day you announced the giveaway, and they are coming tomorrow, all the way to California, I cannot believe it! I can hardly wait, thanks Mavis ❤️

Thay are so good! You’ll love them. And I watched Lark Rise To Candleford a long time ago. I’ll have to watch it again. Thanks for the reminder.

I bought the mascara too, it’s great. I love kale in soups, casseroles and roasted in the oven with a little olive oil and sea salt. Even my dogs like it cooked with other veg with eggs and oatmeal. I also plant collard greens. Cleaning today, tomorrow it’s food and football. My husband and I find Canadian football boring but really enjoy the NFL. Enjoy your show and hooking.

I’m glad everyone loves the mascara!! 🙂
