In case you didn’t get the memo, PIE season has officially arrived. FRUIT PIE season that is. With summer in full swing, now is the time to start making a list of all the delicious pies you’re going to make this summer with all the glorious local fruit that is coming available.
Pie season is my FAVORITE season and even though I still haven’t found the box with all my pie plates, it’s not stopping me from sharing my favorite fruit pie recipes with you today.
Strawberry Rhubarb Pie
This is HANDS DOWN my husband’s favorite pie of all time. This strawberry rhubarb pie is the perfect combination of sweet and tart all rolled into one.
Peach Custard Pie
This pie is a long time favorite of ours from the WCC cookbook, Simply In Season. The best part about this custard pie recipe is that you can pretty much use any sort of summer fruit with it {apricots, plums, berries}.
Sour Cherry Pie
Sour cherries are dropping off the trees as we speak. Hop to it! Find some cherries and make this pie. You can thank me later.
Blueberry Pie
You can never go wrong with a classic. Seriously, this is the BEST blueberry pie recipe out there. Fact: This pie is even better with tiny wild Maine blueberries.
Banoffee Pie
Okay, so technically banoffee pie doesn’t count as a fruit pie {although it does have bananas in it} if you’re headed to a family gathering or a potluck this summer, this would be a fun {and unexpected} pie to bring.
Filled with Heath chips, chocolate and caramel, this one is a proven crowd favorite.
Here’s to summer. And getting our daily allowance of pie fruit in. 😉

P.S. Did you know you can whip up fruit pies ahead of time and pop them in the freezer to bake later? Yes, yes you can! I show you how in my How to freeze and Bake a Fruit Pie tutorial. Check it out!

yep all my current favorites especially the strawberry rhubarb pie but another to try if you haven’t made it especially living in the north is a gooseberry pie. One of the best pies I ever put in my mouth. Oh my. Do give it a try. Gooseberries are easier to fine up north than here in the Mid Atlantic.

My gooseberries are producing for the first time, ever. I will have to make a pie – my favorite dessert!
