Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
We were given a box of peaches from Pearson’s Farm for a housewarming gift and they were SO GOOD!! Oh my. Real peaches, fresh from the farm. You can’t beat it!
Visit 24 {new} Bakeries / Coffee Shops
No new bakeries or coffee shops this past week but I have been building my list of potential places to visit when I head across the pond at the end of summer.
Visiting tea shops {and going to afternoon tea} is pretty much my favorite thing when I travel so I’m hoping to make some serious headway on this goal.

Go On An Adventure
I’ve added Highgrove Gardens to our itinerary!!
If there’s one thing I love doing, it’s planning vacations. Sometimes I have a lot of time to plan a trip, other times I may only have a single day. The key is to stay calm. 🙂
My method is pretty simple:
- Pick a destination
- Pick a theme {This trip’s theme is tea and gardens}
- Ask the Google about said theme
- Research!
- Pick winners {reviews help!}
- Create a trip timeline
- Buy tickets for tours/events {if needed}
- Make copies of itinerary
- Go for it!
It’s really THAT SIMPLE.

~Mavis
Goals I’ve Already Completed This Year
In Stock and Ready to Ship by March 15th/ March 30th Now April 15th DONE!
I finally finished up all the major wool dyeing and pattern/kit making I had hoped too. All the “extra” wool is tucked away in bins so if I run out of wool in my Etsy shop I can whip up some more bundles in a jiffy. A summer off from dyeing wool… It’s going to be pretty rad.
Tidy Up / Clean Out / Purge DONE
We cleaned the whole house, inside and out. And then we sold it. Yee-Haw!

Ashdown forest is lovely, as is Cotchford Farm and gardens. Cotchford Farm is where AA Milne lived when he was writing his Winnie the Pooh stories, and the 100 acre wood is based on Ashdown forest. When I was there a couple years ago, Cotchford farm was owned by a young family, but I visited on a day when the conservation group that runs the forest was showing their gardens, which were delightful. This trip may be best by car, because it’s a long-ish way from a train station.
Mavis Butterfield says
Thanks Kristina, I will look into this!

You’ve inspired a trip down to Pearson Farms! I’ve never actually been there, but I have had their peaches. One year my son won an electrathon race and the prize was a bushel of their peaches!!! I haven’t had one since then! Now I just have to convince my husband to drive a little over two hours to get there!
Mavis Butterfield says
They are the BEST peaches we’ve ever had. Totally worth the drive if you ask me.
Dot says
Where do you live compared to where you were?
Mavis Butterfield says
We are in Southern Maine now. We were in Mid Coast Maine.
Dot says
Thanks. Enjoy your adventures.
