This is the summer of convenience foods. And I shouldn’t feel bad about it. That’s what I keep telling myself about the food we’ve been eating lately. When you move, things are always so crazy, right?
Sometimes you’re on whatever works for this moment mode… And that’s the mode we’re currently on. 😉

Add to that 2 short trips {the HH} 1 international trip {me} and guests coming in August AND September. Furniture deliveries, doctor appointments, an Etsy shop to run, a blog to write and wait, what!?
I’m supposed to get up and shower everyday, keep the house relatively clean, take advantage of the great weather we’ve been having lately AND be on the lookout for some seriously cool things to do around town because HELLO… we don’t want to miss any of the good stuff!
I guess I didn’t realize how few things we were doing {outside of our home} until we moved here. It’s been a few years since we’ve had so many options to choose from.
And then there’s the fact that it’s already the middle of July {how did that happen!?} and we’re smack dab in the middle of tourist season here in Maine. I keep telling myself that things are going to quiet down once the tourists go home after labor day.
Things will quite go down, right?
Right now though, I’m content to live off of big salads, pickety bits, weenies and dinner out once a week.
Baking season and cold weather will be here soon enough. I have to keep reminding myself of that. Things will get back into a rhythm.
We will find furniture that will fit our new space. We will figure out the window covering situation. I will resist the urge to buy a giant lobster to hang on the front of the house. And I will have a garden again.
I don’t even want to think about food right now. I just want to open the fridge and have it there. The HH can buy whatever he wants. I will eat it. The end.
Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale.

P.S. I have absolutely no idea why he bought a sack of limes.

I love that you are giving yourself grace during this crazy time. Everything will return to normal soon. We recently moved and are 3 1/2 months in and I can feel the pace slowing most days. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Limes can be a great addition to homemade salad dressing!

Definitely give yourself some grace as you settle in. But maybe consider that giant lobster? It sounds spectacular. At the least you ought to get us a picture. You know, for research.

My favorite drink in the summer is Cherry Limeade. For me, it’s the most thirst-quenching drink to have when it’s hot!
You will have to let us know how you use up a whole bag!

…because limes are wonderful squeezed over scrambled eggs, chicken salad and Other Stuff. Plus they look nice in a bowl.
I hope you’re looking on Marketplace for furniture — we just got a beautiful leather chair for $50!

As far as giant lobsters adorning houses go, you only live once…
