If you love antiques and Americana and are headed to southern Maine anytime soon, you definitely want to put the store, Americana Workshop on your list.
In a nutshell, I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
I simply cannot drive by the store without stopping. There is something new to see every time!
Part antiques, part primitives, part reproduction signs and furniture, this palace has it all for the American collector.
So far we’ve bought a kitchen table and chairs, a desk, an old quilt rack and had a sign made for our living room from Americana Workshop. I just can’t get enough of this place.
I snapped a few pictures the last time I was in for you to have a look around.
A vintage balloon mold. Now that’s a conversation piece!
If you are a yellowware bowl collector, this place has oodles of them!!!
I was looking for a narrow desk for my “office” space and these ladies had the perfect piece for my tiny writing nook. I love old things, and I especially love shops like this. No junk, just fun antiques and so much to see.
Americana Workshop in Kennebunk, Maine. Go check them out!

Years ago when I was on a trip to the New England area visiting relatives, we went into this shop. I bought an antique bathroom cabinet that I have to this day. We had to check it into luggage on the plane because it was too big to fit into the overhead compartment. I had it wrapped in a wool blanket from one of the woolen mills that was still open. Luckily it made the trip to California and wasn’t busted up. Wish I could go back into this store…I’m a collector of all things old and my house can prove it.

You need to buy a few of those old cupboards for your house.. I love the one holding the quilts…new furniture is generally more expensive and poorly made… if you want a canning cupboard, buy one of them…..

I am so glad to found your blog again!! I love the looks of this store! I have a very old tall pie cupboard. My parents bought it in Ohio from the Salvation army store in 1961. I wish I had taken photos of all the things It has held since then! From childhood toys and books to encyclopedias to being my pantry as a young bride. It then became my craft and sewing cabinet and now holds toys for my grandchildren! If it could only talk about it’s previous life in rural Ohio. I wish I could shop at that store…I grew up in CT from 3rd grade through first semester of college and so miss New England!! I hope my husband and I can leave Spokane, WA to visit Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth and Maine next summer!!
