Mr. Snow – pattern by Mavis Butterfield
Due to moving and setting up a new garden and workspace, I haven’t been able to get as many rugs hooked this year as I had planned.
But now that things have seemed to calm down, I’m back at it again. Mostly hooking at night. I’m really enjoying sitting in a dedicated workspace again and listening to audiobooks. It’s been very calming.
We all need a hobby. A distraction. Something we love to do and can get lost in. Gardening and rug hooking seem to be the two big hobbies I love the most.
Now that the garden has been planted and put to rest for the winter, it’s time to start hooking again in earnest. One of my goals this year was to hook 6 large rugs. So far I’ve hooked 4 {and have the patterns for rugs 5 and 6 all ready to go}.
And while I didn’t get any large rugs hooked this past month, I was able to finish some smaller sized ones.
Here are photos of all the rugs I hooked in October.

That’s what has been keeping me busy these days, how about YOU? Do you have a craft or hobby that you spend a lot of time on? I’m always looking for new things to try.
Have a great day everyone,

I love all of these! I’m curious – are you self-taught or did you take a class? I’d love to learn to hook at some point. I’m also interested in needle-punch which is similar. Have you ever tried that? How long does it take you to hook these rugs? Thank you so much for sharing. I’m definitely inspired!

Self taught. I have never taken a class. I have never tried needle punch but lots of people seem to like it. 🙂

I sew, my latest finish was 236 ornaments. This year they are Christmas tree lights. Next up, PJ pants for my nearest and dearest. Then on to “The Gift” for this year. Every year I make a lot of variations of a gift for my family and friends. Haven’t yet decided on what it will be this year. Need to make a decision, pretty quickly.
I agree that having a hobby is good for you.
