Bittersweet Blessings – Chester, New Hampshire

While I was out and about recently I stopped by the store Bittersweet Blessings in Chester, New Hampshire for a look around. I LOVE the whole primitive folk art style {as you probably already know based on my style of rug hooking} and I also love pine furniture.

Bittersweet Blessings in Chester, New Hampshire had a ton of both!

And about a million other things I wish I had room for. 

I wish I would have known they sold pine canning cupboards before I bought the one we have in our house now. I probably would have bought this blue one had I seen it first. It would have looked great in our living room.

The store was HUGE and packed with so many fun things, it was hard to get pictures of all the different decorated rooms.

I LOVED these bunnies! I wish I had the patience to make something like it. All that sewing though, I don’t think I could do it.

This Whaler’s Tavern painting was one of my favorite things at the shop. It reminded me of the Historic New England Home, Cogswell’s Grant Estate The HH and I visited a few years ago.

I know it’s probably not most people’s style, but I adore American folk art. I always have. Handmade items especially. Flags and whales and lots of red, white and blues have always been favorites of mine. 

I don’t know what I liked more, those chandeliers or all the flowers.

They make really nice faux flowers these days, it’s amazing.

So if you’re of American folk art and you’re anywhere near southern New Hampshire, be sure and check out Bittersweet Blessings in the small town of Chester. The place is loaded with all sorts of good things. 

Everything from furniture to handmade dolls to tinware and a ridiculous amount of those wax dipped candles everyone loves so much. 

And linens! They had a ton of linens and rugs and pillows too. 🙂
