Last year The Girl Who Thinks She’s a Bird and I attended the Mother Earth News Fair at the Puyallup Fairgrounds and had a blast. Not only did we see a bunch of animals and displays, but there were also a ton of gardening workshops as well. Oh, and I also met my hottie of a Horticulturalist Ryan there too.
Why am I telling you this? Well because now through January 31st you can purchase discounted tickets at a BIG savings. Buy them now and pay $10. Wait until the day of the event and pay $25.
Yep, that’s quite a price difference.
The MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIRS are family-oriented, sustainable lifestyle events, packed with hands-on workshops and demonstrations on renewable energy, small-scale farming, green building, organic gardening and more.
We had a great time last year, and as soon as I found out about this deal I just had to share.

Mavis,
We went to the one at Seven Springs here in PA last year. If we can swing it, we would like to get a room and stay there for the weekend this year.
On another note, we bought supplies for a garden yesterday. We are planning on tearing out the front yard and planting a huge garden. Our back yard slopes and gets quite swampy, while the front yard is level and gets all afternoon sun. My husband’s grandfather brought in tons of topsoil years ago and screened every bit of it. It’s a luscious front yard, but it’ll be a better garden!
We are newbies at this, but what we lack in experience, we hope to make up for with enthusiasm! BTW we will both be 55 by summer’s end.
Love your site – keep up the good work!

This sounds like fun. I think I will have to go and take all of my kids. They will have fun checking out the animals.
