I wear them gardening, mowing, haying, working and on walks in the woods, in the barn with the animals, for yard work, selling perennials at market, even setting up for outdoor art shows. And yes…I have been spotted by the neighbors more than once, playing in the puddles just for fun! :0)

My current boots owe me nothing. They’re different pastel hearts and they have been accessorized with duct tape. Even the duct tape has expired. I don’t live in Mongolia, but here on Vancouver Island where is it often wet and sloppy. That’s the sound my boots make as it doesn’t take long for water to slip through the holes and make a slurping noise with every step. As for where I would wear them? Pretty much everywhere, back and forth to the store, the garden center, the beach, and of courser my garden that learns so much from you. I 🙁 live in a municipality that does NOT allow for chickens (at least not yet) but I’d walk with pride about my coop with my new boots! Peace out!
Mindy says

I would wear these EVERYWHERE! In Upstate NY, I wear wellies year-round, but especially in the winter with boot liners. They are just so much better in the icy, sloshy, muddy mess that we call winter, than any other sort of boot. I’ve been lusting after Hunter wellies for years- this is just the most fun giveaway!
Cheers,
KK

With jeans in the community garden a block from my house
With a little black dress for a night on the town!
Thanks Mavis for the contest!

I would wear them everywhere, but mostly in the garden! I noticed yours when I started following your blog and fell in love with them until I searched for them on the internet and was blown away by the price – a little hard for me to spend more than $30 on a pair of shoes. Anyway, they would be well appreciated and worn daily. I live in the Pacific Northwest and wet is our weather forecast for most days of the year. I have been wearing a pair of mismatched boots that my husband found at a garage sale – one boot is a full size too large and the other fits perfectly, but at least they keep my feet dry. I wonder why anyone put them in a garage sale to begin with…… must have had some interesting feet.

Naturally they’d be worn in the garden. However, due to the typical hectic lifestyle of mom, wife, owner (and only employee at this time) of a physical therapy clinic, not to mention living in snow laden northeast I like to channel the garden/outdoor vibes in my life. Soooo, I’d be seen wearing them to the clinic that’s painted/decorated with outdoor scenes; shopping on Saturdays; walking the dog; and other times I’ll think of after I post this comment. Thanks for the giveaway!
Lindsey says
I was telling my husband about this give away and he said, and I quote, “If I let you, you’d wear your garden Crocs to bed. I am warning you, no boots in the bedroom.” So, I guess that is my answer: I would wear them everyplace else but the bedroom!

Would love to wear a pair of Flame Gloss Hunter boots around Montana!
Andi says
These are too beautiful not to wear everywhere, in glossy British racing green, of course. Between early spring mud and watering in the summer (which creates mud) and fall rains (true mud situations) and winter storms (well, don’t even ask about the mud), these boots would keep my toes entirely mud free. I’ll probably have to try a Brit accent while wearing them in honor of your trip. (Alone in the muddy garden, of course)
Tasha K. says
I would definately wear them for working in the yard.
Mrs. Fisher says
I love all the colors that Hunter supplies! I would wear these boots everywhere!!
Bri Marie says
Just bought my first home in the Greenlake area of Seattle and it has a great yard left behind from the previous owners. I went out last weekend to trim some bushes back and get some soil ready for planting, and all I had were some tennis shoes to wear. Some Hunter boots would be well-loved in my new garden as I use your blog to learn the ropes!

Karen says
Would love to have those boots!

I’ve been sweet on your boots ever since I joined your website. I will proudly wear them while we installing gardens for the under privileged and elderly, who would otherwise not be able to enjoy the joys of having fresh produce and a tranquil place to spend time with nature. But I don’t think my lovely wife will allow me to wear them on date night, she already jokes about the way I look in my bib overalls.
Christine says
I would wear them in the chicken coop and outside in the garden.

So it’s not Mongolia, but ship those babies up here to Canada! Yeah!
Love the site Mavis

I live in western Oregon, so it is very wet and rainy here most of the time!
Alyson says
I don’t have a garden, but I have a yard that gets wet and muddy and my children like to play in. So I would wear these in my muddy yard and have lots of fun. I would also probably wear them to the store, to my daughter’s school, to the library, etc. I don’t have a lot of footwear, especially not boots, so these would get worn a lot.

sharon says
I’m in Auburn and there are days I definitely need them just to feed the chickens and turkeys. There are other days I need them to get into the garden
I do enjoy your blog, but still don’t know if you count other than food items in your hundred dollars – like toothpaste, toilet paper, cleaning supplies.
Mavis says
I only include food. Typically we can get toothpaste for free with coupons, I like buying toilet paper on Amazon and I rarely buy cleaning supplies. I was able to get a boatload of dish soap in 2011 for free and probably have enough to last another 2 years. 🙂

Having these would definately get me out into the garden more! The shoes I wear now are clunky, ill-fitting and a pain to put on. Plus, they’re not waterproof, which living here on the slopes of Squak Mt. in Issaquah, can & is pretty soggy. So the garden for sure, the grocery store, the garden nurseries, most everyday due to the rain & wet. Thanks for your blog. I’d wear them everywhere! I live outside of a 200 inhabitant village where pretty much everyone who isn’t retired is a farmer. When it’s feed-corn harvest season, you can tell because all the cars in the whole community are muddy up to the door handle. Wellies are truly everyday fare here.

Secretly, I wish that I could wear Hunter Garden Boots year-round. Not only are they comfortable and stylish, they make you feel like you can get stuff done. Must be like a cowboy wearing cowboy boots, they just give you that great feeling, like,
” I can accomplish anything I put my mind to today!” Not only do I wear them in the garden, doing yard-work and hiking, I proudly wear them grocery shopping, to the farmer’s markets, and washing the car. Washing the dog, walking the dog, and checking the mail. If I could, I would wear them to work.
Hunter Boots and flip-flops. Yea, that’s my dream.
The British got two things right, tea and Hunter Boots.

Garden!!
Carla says
I would wear them outside in the garden and doing any other outside project. For many years, as a dairyman’s wife, I wore the ugly black boots that did not help your feeling pretty on a yuck day. A pretty pair would definitely raise one’s sense of self esteem, even in the mud and manure!
Nyree Cote says
I would wear these out with the kids – stomping in the rain in the puddles, in the garden, at the park, going to the grocery store ( more incentive to walk there), the library and playgroups. Also great for camping !!
Thanks !!

I have been in dire need of some of these boots! As a fairly new resident of the pacific northwest I’d be putting some rain boots to good use. I also garden quite a bit and try to live off the modest plot near my apartment to the best of my ability. Super frugal, so for the time being I wear what I can & try to not get too soggy out there.
Btw, love your blog! Must-read every to every other day 🙂

Diane says
I would definitely wear them in the garden. Also, I would wear then when taking my fur kids to the dog park or any doggie adventure. The main thing is winning these boots would rectify a big mistake that I made. When getting my last pair of garden foot apparel, I chose a pair of duck shoes over boots.Big Mistake!! I can’t stand wet feet/socks! I now put plastic bags over my feet and lower legs and shove my feet into my duck shoes. I need to get my money’s worth out of them, even though I feel a little dewby. Now that Seattle has a plastic bag ban, my system is soon coming to an end. Save my feet, Mavis! Pick me and retire my dweby ways.
Cheers.
