Berry thieves have struck (and I don’t mean the kids). For the third day in a row I have gone out to the strawberry patch/bed and found several strawberries on the ground with little bits everywhere. I’m beginning to suspect the birds/squirrels. There are a ton of them around here and since I know they won’t be leaving anytime soon, I’ve decided to be proactive and surround them with ugly green fence netting. It’s all I have and today Home Depot is not getting any of my money so it we will see if it works.
I came inside and when I went out to pick peas a few minutes later, something had attempted to steal another berry. I don’t think the green fence thingy is going to work.
On a happier note, I did harvest 1lb .25oz of sugar snap peas though.
