How cute would these be for a school Halloween party or if you live in a small neighborhood and just get a few trick or treaters? I’ve been making these for a couple of years now and they are always a big hit with the kiddos.
You’ll need:
- Lunch-size paper bags
- Scissors
- Small branch or piece of wood
- Candy
- Twine or raffia
Directions:
- To make one broom, you’ll need two lunch bags. Unfold the bag, then fold back together the left and right sides {so the base is open and flat, but the sides of the bag have been folded in again}.
- Cut the bag into thin strips, stopping at the base. You want to keep the base of the bag intact so it can hold the candy and sit flat. Cut thin strips into the top inch of the second bag.
- Open both bags and place the second bag {with the one inch cuts only} inside of the shredded one. Fill the inside bag with candy.
- Insert a small branch 1-2 inches into the bag: cinch the tops of both bags and secure them with twine or raffia.
Now just sit back and enjoy being the most creative mom ever.

These are super cute to make for Christian schools that only have “Fall” parties. These can be made with any size bags, in fact Martha had a kit using 3″ across bags at Michael’s.
