I’ve decided to put Good Neighbours {called Good Life in the U.K.} on my watchlist. I started watching this series several years ago, but never finished it. I figured it would be a great this winter when there is nothing to do but sort through seeds and watch T.V. It’s classic British humor, and a sitcom, so it really only takes a 30 minute commitment. I don’t know about you, but sometimes, I like to throw light-hearted shows like this on while I’m baking.
Happy times, I tell ya.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

Loved the show when it was on Ch. 9. Watched every season I could & laughed all the while, till the last & was very sorry when the last episode came on. Even the Queen visited on set during a taping, back in the day. Loved the pea pod wine concept. Beautiful, well written comedy, but that seems to be the case for the BBC.

It is the Good Life to me, and I love it! We are currently re-watching it with our girls (age 7) and they love it too. I think my husband loves it best because he’s had a crush on Felcity Kendal since the show first came on TV when HE was 7.

MAVIS!! This is my favorite show of all time. I am so old, I watched it in it’s actual time. Because of this show I got chickens in my backyard here. I finally couldn’t wait for it to come on TV here in BC, after all it had been decades, so a few months ago I bought the whole series. Amazon. Enjoy!!

I love the Good Life – I think it was way ahead of its time. Not to spoil it but I found the ending very sad indeed. And if I ever get a goat, she’ll be called Geraldine!

No-one does comedy like the Brits (we love them here in Australia). I have watched this series many times over the years and now have it on DVD, one of my favourites, there are others from the same era which are good like “To The Manor Born” which also has Penelope Keith in it (she is so funny). You also can’t go past Fawlty Towers, which of course leads onto Monty Python, Dr Who (original and the latest series). There are so many to name, the Brits just do good comedy, they always did and they still do 🙂
