The Girl Who Thinks She’s a Bird and I are in Virginia today! We plan on getting a few history lessons in by visiting the Walton’s Museum, Montpelier and a whole lot more including visiting with my online buddies Jane from Thy Hand Hath Provided and Mama JJ. {I’m so excited!}
If you’ve been to Virginia and there’s something you think we should see, leave us comment below. Have a great day everyone and enjoy those fall colors. 🙂

The Marine Core museum in Quantico is pretty cool! And obviously if you’re in that area, DC is right there. I may be biased, but Maryland is a way better time! 😉

If you head to Monticello, there is a great apple picking orchard right next door, Carter Mountain! Virginia is full of many many historic sites and museums.

hi, you are very close to an amazing amount of things to do. There is the Waterman’s Museum in Newport News , featured as one of the best in the country, there is historic Ft Monroe, ( with its moat ; Edgar Allen Poe was assigned there as well as some very famous Civil War leaders) Colonial Williamsburg an open air museum, Yorktown where independence was won; its amazing the amount of history to do and see, Jamestown, where the first settlement was located, Jefferson’s Monticello. There is so very much history here, you will not have time to see it all.
