Can you believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow? I totally spaced about the turkey and just placed it in the refrigerator last night. I’m pretty sure Mr. Tom Turkey will be spending tonight in a cold water bath. 😉 What kind of nut forgets to thaw their turkey? I mean c’mon, get your act together Mavis!!
So, assuming you all have your turkeys thawed, what are you plans for today? I think I’m going to get a jump start on my Thanksgiving cooking and prepare as many side dishes and desserts as possible today. That way tomorrow I can relax.
Have a great day everyone.
♥ Mavis

What size jackets did you order? Do you know if they run big or small? I do see they have a size chart on their site, but that never helps me, lol.
Mavis Butterfield says
I ordered a medium for myself and a small for my daughter.

Thanks!

If I’m being honest, my turkeys are always thawed in a cold water bath. Having to remember to put it in the fridge days before is WAY too much pressure to place on myself. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Mavis just a quick question, I will have about 500 to 600 sq. ft to plant in the new year, any suggestions on vegetable seeds I should order this weekend. I live in the same climate zone as yourself. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi Tracy, I am working on my seed order right now and hope to post about it in a little bit. Check back around lunch. 🙂
Vicki says
We’re not having turkey tomorrow since it will just be my daughter, my grandson and me. I wanted to roast a whole chicken, but none of the grocery stores in the area have any – the whole chickens apparently were sold out and not reordered to make room for the turkeys. Twenty pounds of turkey is just way too much for the three of us, and none of us likes the breast meat enough to just roast that, so I ended up getting a package of cut-up chicken and will roast it over lemon halves, sage leaves and garlic cloves. And we won’t have to worry about carving anything. Of course, we’re having stuffing, Brussels sprouts and all the other traditional foods we have for our holiday dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving, Mavis, to you and yours! I count your blog among the things I’m thankful for this year. You’ve taught me some stuff, made me laugh just about every day, and have taken me with you on adventures around the country. I really appreciate you!
