Don’t you think these Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats would make the perfect treats for a school or harvest party?
Ingredients:
9 cups Rice Krispies cereal
11 ounces mini marshmallows {1 bag}
6 Tbsp butter + more for greasing the pans
Yellow food coloring
Orange food coloring
Start by buttering {2} 8″ round cake pans and then set them aside. Melt butter in a microwave proof bowl. Add marshmallows, stirl and microwave at 30 second intervals until smooth.
Divide melted goodness into 3 bowls. Add orange food coloring to one, yellow food coloring to another and leave the third one plain {white}. Stir until combined. Add a few cups of Rice Krispies into each bowl and stir until coated.
Divide the yellow rice krispies mixture between the two greased cake pans and press the yellow Krispies up against the inside of the cake pan. You want about a 2″ ring.
Next press the orange Krispies against the yellow, leaving the center open for the “white” ring of Krispies.
You should have a “rainbow” of yellow, orange and white Rice Krispies now. Allow the treats to set for about one hour, then flip them out of the cake pans onto a cutting board. Cut the circles in half, then in quarters, and then cut each quarter in half.
Cute, right?

Cute, but WHAT A STINKIN’ MESS!!!!!
For those inclined to try this, here’s my advise:
Do the outside layer first. Put a huge blob in the center of the cake pan. Do not try to shape it. Go mix the second color. And maybe the third (I used green/orange/purple). After the first color has cooled somewhat, coat your hands in butter (yeah, real hygienic), make a hole in the center of the first color & push/pull it into shape. Then fill the hole with the second color. After that’s cooled/set somewhat, make a hole in the center of it & fill with the middle color. THEN LET IT SET. Don’t try to cut it until it’s set.
